Bushnell Elite 1500 vs Legend 1200

Recently, I went to look at rangefinders and was told the Legend 1200 is the successor of the Elite 1500. I am not sure how this can be since the 1500 has longer range finding abilities. I tried to find information to support what I was told on Bushnell's website and to my amazement, I was unable to find the Elite 1500 model listed on their site.

How can the 1200 be the successor to the 1500 and has the 1500 been discontinued since it no longer appears on Bushnell's website?

Hopefully, someone will be able to clear this confusion up for me.

I spoke with Bushnell rep @ NRA Annual meeting in Phoenix last May. I was hoping to pick up the 1500 there. I was told that the military had awarded a sizeable contract to Bushnell for this rangefinder and that all production is going to fill this demand. Therefore, no civilian availability.

I cannot imagine why the military would choose to go with the 1500 considering they currently utilize the vector....which has a much more powerful laser. Thank you for the reply!

Because the bushnell costs under 500dollars a pop and the vector, I don't even wana know.

I do think there are some available. I jus saw one in a mail order catalog. I think it was Sportsman's Guide.
