windage adjustable bases ?

any suggestions as to the best windage adjustable bases available for rem. 700 with burris ext. tactical 6x24x50 ? after sighting in i don't have any "left" windage remaining. I have installed the +10 inserts both front and rear, but still lack any "left" windage, so want suggestions for adjustable rear base.

I am not aware of a windage adjustable base, however there is the leupold style front dovetail and rear windage base and rings. It has 2 large windage screws that hold the rear rings and allow minor windage adjustment. I had one of these windage screws break on a 7mmRemMag, so I don't use them anymore but there are alot of people who do.

I'm assuming (big word) that you're using Burris Signature rings?
If so, are your inserts being used to alter the scope left-to-right, up-and-down, or both? Would you mind explaning a bit more about your setup? Any pictures?

I've had to use a +/-20 insert with a +/-10 insert with a dual dovetail system to get it all lined up where I wanted. No windage adjustments available when using dual dovetails or some other bases, so you have to do it all with the inserts. And, you may need +/-20s both front and back.

yes, I'm using the +10 front and rear to adjust windage as far as it will go. The xtreme tactical is a 30mm body, so BURRIS does not make a +20 insert like hey do for the 1" scopes. In the process of making a set of inserts now.

Please don't take this wrong but did you get the inserts in right? only reason I ask is that when I got mine I put them on the wrong side the first time out. Later,

I would look at what was jacked up on my action. You shouldn't need that much windage plus inserts and still not on target, that seems a little extreme but then I haven't ran into that before.

inserts in correctly according to + and - marks, but just read another thread about burris having some marked wrong. will check that tnite. checked allignment with bore and all is ok, but burris has VERY limited windage in tactical scopes, literally TONS of elevation tho.

I raninto that problem on the first rifle I built, I just used the drill jig and thought it would be good, oopise on my part. I have changed calibers on this action and went to a 1" scope and ran into the lack of windage adjusment so I went with the burris rings and got everything figured out the second time, yep I put the inserts in the wrong direction. Oh well all is good now and the rifle hits where it's supposed to. Did you set the inserts to trow the back one direction and the front the other way? if you have the inserts with the same offset on the same side it's not gonna change much, +on the right and - on the left? I'm just shooting in the dark here. Later,

If you want to buy new rings and it is a weaver style base look at Millet Angle Lock for windage adjustable rings

found solution, thanks to BURRIS ! they sent me new bases, the windage rear with posilock front. used the +/- 10 inserts and just a "tweak" on the rear base. This worked ! got it zeroed yesterday and shot BERGARA BBl'd rifle for first group, .474 5 shot in 12 mph wind ! I'm sure this thing will SHOOT !

Something I found out the hard way recently... the inserts that Burris supplies aren't always labeled correctly, nor are they always the right measurement even if the labeling is correct. Most are, but not all.

For 30mm inserts, they should measure 0.110" thick for +10, 0.100 for '0', and 0.090" for -10. I have several '+10' inserts that measure 0.090", which can really cause some headaches.

Check 'em with a set of calipers across the center with the thin part of the blade.
