I remember awhile ago i read a thread about brass basically, and people gave lists or what not of order of good to bad brass.

i am deciding about brass for a 338 edge, basically remington vs the nosler, is the nosler worth the extra? and 300 wsm, i have used norma, and again an comparing normal to nosler and just winchester. what are the benefits or drawbacks to the different companies?

i do anneal. and i generally full length size, but not the entire neck and only bump the shoulder slightly

While everybody has their own opinion and mine is, I like R P Brass, maybe the way I load, but it is more accurate and last longer than any brass that I have tried.

+1

For the price you can't beat it !

Lapua probably makes the best brass and the nosler brass is weight sorted but it is made by Federal and is overpriced in my opinion. also it will weigh different from batch to batch.

I just bought 200 rounds of Remingtion brass in 7/08 and after a full prep (sizing, de-burring
the flashole, trimmingto length and de-burring the case mouth I weight sorted and found 2
batches withen 1 grain and 7 pieces that were out . so I ended up with 193 rounds of brass
that were very close a 7 that will be used as dummy or fouling loads.

Just my opinion

I find it difficult to understand why/how some can be so adament that some brass is "good" and some is "bad". They are different, what's good or bad depends on what quality you're comparing.

I've been loading a lot of years with virtually every brand of brass commonly available and have found all of it to be quite serviceable. VERY little difference in the "accuracy" potential of any of it, accuracy is more of a rifle, the loader and the shooter thing than the headstamp on the brass.

Just about every brand is "servicable" as boomtube describes, but you have to have more time to spend making some brass more uniform. How much time do you have? I live a hectic life so I prefer to buy quality (Norma/Lapua) brass from the get go, and spend more time shooting (and I pay for the privilege), but occasionally the prices tick me off and I downgrade to Fedremchester brass and by the end I feel that the extra time, additional wastage, and less loads per cartridge makes it a wash overall.
