North Florida Shooters

Anyone from around the North Florida (Jacksonville, St Augustine) area?
Seeing if anyone else is in the area that shares the passion for longrange hunting/shooting?
winters get too cold that far north for me. i just moved from the keys to vero beach area to be near grandkids. not sure how that will go. there seem to be a number of floridians interested in long range shooting. being a native pennsylvanian, i spend time here also. certainly all my hunting is from here.

I hunt a little further west of you in the Panhandle of Florida. My hunting lease is in Calloway just east of Panama City. Been bit by the long Range bug for couple of years now. There is a few places on my lease where you can put it on the deer at 5,6,7 hundred yrds if you want.gun)Fin72Fan

Gainesville here. love to hunt/shoot long range! but i mostly bow hunt in my area, woods is thick here.. so get in good with the farmers if you want to shoot 500yd or more.

Shawn, I live in St John's off 210. I know what you mean about longrange in Florida. I shoot paper at GRPC-Gateway Rifle & Pistol Club, as an annual member I can shoot on their 200 yard outdoor range. But further than that I have found anything nearby. Good to know there are other in the area interested in longrange. What type of gun, caliber, etc do you shoot? Charlie:)

I'll be moving to the panhandle within the next 12 months. Just from my looking, there's an expensive shooting club in the area with a 200 yard range, but it looks like I'll have to find private land to stretch my legs. I know you can hunt on Eglin, I wonder if you can shoot there in the off season?

Brian, depending on where you'll be living in the panhandle there's a 200, 600 & 1000 yard range 1 hr west of Mobile. If your interested in longrange here's the link for the range. Pascagoula Shooting Club Charlie

I'll be in Pensacola, so I'd be about as close as you can be still in Florida. Thanks for the link!

From Pensacola it's probably close to 100 miles if memory serves me right. I live just south of Jacksonville Florida and have made the trip straight down
I-10 thru Pensacola, Mobile & Pascagoula on my way to Baton Rogue to see wife's family so I'm familar with that stretch of highway and you can make excellent time. Good luck in Pensacola. Charlie
