I have been messung aroound with these 200 gr bullets lately. With all the data I find the 200 gr Part max is 79 gr of H-1000 and the 200 gr Accubond max is 77 gr H-1000. I loaded some fire formed Rem brass with 79 gr of H-1000 and some virgin RWS brass with 79 gr of H-1000. The RWS brass was compressed quite a bit. When I load Partitions of the same weight in either brass the load is not as compressed. Should I shoot the RWS, or pull the Accubonds and lower the charge? I am getting no pressure signs with the 200 gr Part with either brass. Thanks

The reason the AB's are compressed is because its a lot longer bullet and takes up more case capacity then the partition.

As long as the AB's aren't showing signs of pressure, your OK.

I shoot compressed loads in my 25-06, 7 RM, and 338 EDGE.

I haven't fired the 200 gr Accubond in the RWS brass yet. I didn't get pressure signs when I fired it in the R-P brass that was fire formed. The case capacity of the RWS brass is noticably less. That is why I was concerned

I'm not in favor of compressed loads. Some shooters claim that compressed loads "can" push the bullet partially out over time, thus, have several bullets with different oal. I believe that powder could change its burning characteristic if (overly) crushed by compression.

Is there a reason that you can't just load the Accubond to a longer oal?

Personally, if I was going to use that brass, I'd consider a faster powder.

My COAL is fairly long now, going longer probably isn't an option. My hillbilly logic being " a 200 gr bullet is a 200gr bullet" but when I seated the bullet, flags went up in my mind. You could here it compressing. I have seen on line tid bits that guys are shooting as high as 80 gr but with different brass. I am getting about 2640 fps with the Part and I was just hoping to get that or more with the Accubond but I didn't want things coming apart. Thanks

Compressed loads should have little to no effect on your velocity, pressure or accuracy. I tried H1000 and got up to 79.3 gr with the 200 gr Accubond. But in my gun anytime I run the 200 gr Accubond over 2900 fps the accuracy started to go to hell. When the velocity fell below 2900 fps at around 2875 or so the accuracy was greatly improved. This was with RL25 or H1000

Mine is about the same, but I had got some Partitions and just was doing some range time with them and they shot like a house on fire with 79 gr of H-1000 out of my virgin RWS brass. That led me to thinking, What would happen with the Accubond? I was curious if the Accubond would be faster enough to increase the powder charge to the 79 gr. I am running about 2840 now with my Accubond/H-1000 load and it is well below MOA. I just can't quit tinkering, I have alot of nervous energy waiting to go elk hunting. I can always use the range time also. Thanks
