Hello all,

Been looking at some options for a mid-to-long range big game hunting rifle, and I'm seriously considering these two rounds. I'm curious what kind of real-world MVs y'all have been getting with ~24-26" barrel, 190-210gr bullets, etc.

Thanks,

Monte

300 win mag 200 gr Accubond 24" barrel 2880 to 2920 fps

300 WSM 200 gr Accubond 24" barrel 2830 to 2880 fps

26" 300WSM 2850fps with 200gr AB. No signs of pressure at all, very accurate. According to the ladder test, I think I could easily get to 2900fps+ with this rifle.
Using H4350 CCI-BR2's

Those are phenomenal numbers, I need to get some RL17

Yup, they are incredible. Alliant lists 66 gr with a Speer 180 BTSP @ 3082. I haven't seen anyone else duplicate the results I got, but I think the numbers are fairly reliable because I shot a 5 shot group of 180 E-Tips with 66.5 gr of H4350 (my rifle's max) right after shooting the RL 17 and they averaged about 2990 which is close to book and my previous experince with that load. So I think the chronoy was reading fairly accurate.

Kinda makes me wonder why I got a 300 RUM to push a 200 gr bullet at about the same velocity as the 180 E-Tips from a 1 5/8" longer barrel while burning about 30 gr more powder???:rolleyes:

I would really like to see some RL 17 results from a 7mm and 300 Dakota.
