I thought I'd try one of these out since 95% of the time I will be benchrest shooting for fun. If it works out it will save me enough to get two new barrels to switch out for hunting.

What experiences have any of you had with them? I saw an older one about a year ago that looked way inferior to this one. It had real cheepo rings and the glass was not as good and sharp like these.

PS: I haven't shot it with the new scope yet.

I thought they might be worth a try too=WRONG. I made the mistake of buying a used one and got a scope with the x hairs off 1/8th of a turn and a company that will not cover it!!
Otherwise it works great:rolleyes:

MachV,

Could you explain how the x hairs was off 1/8th turn???? You can loosen the 3 turret screws and turn the turret back to "0" without moving the x hair. Is this what you mean?

Now that there is some funny chit! Naw what I mean is the reticle is not plum with the turrets. I can either plum it to the reticle and use the holdoff hashes and live with a scope that looks like a ****** mounted it or plum it to the turret and use the dials where only the guy looking through the scope knows its retarded:rolleyes:
I'm tempted to order another one from SG and return this one as defective but so far the reticle seams to be stable and not moving so I will probably do the right thing and use the scope as is just to remind me not to be that foolish again??

A guy on my lease has one. I have been loading up bullets for him. He has it on a Rem Sendero chambered in 300 WM. The scope has held its zero through a couple hundred rounds this summer. The zero repeats as we click off for wind, etc. We have busted jugs out to 900 yards with regularity.

On the other hand, the scope does not have great clarity. The side focus is a joke. It goes from fuzzy to clear back to fuzzy if you move it 1/2 a frog hair. I can see more detail with my 4.5x14 Zeiss than the Osprey 10x40 at any range. The power gain is therefore not worth the clarity you lose.

Bottom line, it works great, but it is not anywhere close to great glass or a high-end scope for a cheap price. It is a cheap scope at a cheap price that also works.
