I say that because I actually cut, sliced and diced myself a FEW times building this baby. I have been building this over the last 6 months or so and he still has some maturing to go. Future plans are a new leupold scope, cerakoting of the barreled action in armor black, better scope rings for the new scope and a few other things. The specs are as follows
Savage 110 trued action
Stockade PD/Tactical old style stock bedded
26" Mcgowen barrel chambered in the 300 win mag
EGW scope base
Karsten's cheek piece from Tactical Works Inc. (Matt Kicks @$$)
Nikon Monarch 4-16x50 Non tactical and target knobs
Not sure of the current rings had them for awhile and seem to be holding up.
Rocky Mount Bipod
SSS trigger
SSS tactical bolt handle
SSS Recoil lug

Gun looks sharp man like a real shooter, love everything about it reminds me of my edge. It has pretty much the same things as yours action, barrel maker, recoil lug, trigger, bolt handle, and stock.

Hope it shoots great for ya.
Nathan.

Did McGowan chamber it for you or someone else.

SFY- That is a great looking gun. I'm in the process of building one very similar. Actually, it's sounds like it will almost be identical to Nathan's.

Yes Mcgowen did the chambering. It is an actual Mcgowen barrel from start to finish

Hey geargrinder, bought the rifle from a gentleman on here back about 4 months ago. He had Mcgowan do all the work on it. It is extremely accurate i absolutely love it, as im sure you will love yours as well.

Sorry Southernfryedyankee i didnt mean to hijack your thread man,

Nathan.

How do you like the Nikon? I have been looking at those monarchs for sometime, they also make one I believe with Mildots too. Is it a good scope for the money? how are the turrets?

I love all the nikons I have owned

I have the Monarch 4-16x50, buckmaster 4.5-14x40, buckmaster 4-12x50 I owned a 4x40 but sold that with another rifle. I have had great luck with them. For the $$$ I think they can hang with the other big boys in their group. If I can get a good price I may consider the Monarch x 4-16x50 with the 30mm tube instead of the loopy.

Hello from Aberdeen, NC..I think your rifle is really nice, has all the making of a excellent shooter and looks **** good also..I have a question: how does the cheekpiece attach? do the bolts go all the way thru or are they self tapping on each side??? thanks and hope you give us a rundown on groups...ElDeelightbulb

This is not SPAM this is a bona fide question!!

the bolt go all the way through the stock and the bolt heads lock into the cheekpiece itself, kinda like a carriage bolt has that square rim underneath the bolt head
