Heres a group I shot this morning with my Carlock 338 EDGE.

Conditions were

Alt 178 FT
Temp 57 F
29.68 BP
70 % H

My new swinging target was placed at 1342 yards.

Now as I was getting all my gear together to shoot the wind picked up to a small gale... So I nearly did not shoot.. But then thought " What the hell ! ".. Lets do it..

Getting 38.25 up and calling the wind at 4-5 mph from 8 oclock I fired my first round... Whoa... about 4 ft right of the target with good elevation. So I got straight behind the spotter and could see about half way to the target the wind was roaring left to right.

Next shot I called 10 mph wind same elevation with 5.25 wind. Hit on the bottom right. So holding slightly further left I fired 2 more for this group. Group was 11 " side to side and 3 " top to bottom.
In a gusty 10 mph wind I thought this was fairly decent ?

Close up of the group. First was on the right and the next 2 middle and 3 left.

I would never fire at game in these conditions but it was a learning experience.. Thats what it's all about really.

Cheers

Hey DUH,
Good shooting mate. If that was a big stag, on a still day, he would be in trouble...........

That steel plate looks quite thin. What sort of steel is it? All my gongs are 20mm MS Plate and weigh a lot.

Howdy mate !

Not sure what plate it is. It's cheap.. so it's good !

I think they use it to make tipper bodys with it ?

thanks for sharing, good shooting. what's the gizmo in front of the turrets?

Hey Dave !

It's a leupy steel tape with all my corrections out to 1000 yards, so when I dont have time for the pda just pull it out for the dope. Nothing beats the program for dead on accuracy though ! Sure beats stick on stuff !

Cheers

Nice shooting. That is a beautiful gun. What stock is that?

Thanks.

Its a HS Precision Series 1 Sendero with a Defensive Edge Cheeckpiece. For me personally I find it far more user friendly than the series 2. My only complaint with it is that if you are really low to the ground prone it could do with more of a tactical pistol grip upright feel.

Glad you like the gun.
