For years you guys have asked for caps and t-shirts. T-shirts (and window stickers) are going well. Now it is time to work on a cap selection.

I want it to be of the highest quality and for its color, style, etc. to meet the needs of the majority. Pricing is unknown at this time but would be similar to what other sites might charge for this same quality level.

From earlier discussions with individual members I am zeroing in on the following but want to run it by a larger audience today:

  • Choice of 2 colors, khaki (tan) and black
  • Medium height profile
  • Rear leather strap
  • Rear brass buckle and tuck-in thingy

Some like a structured crown and some like an non-structured crown (soft or stiff). So maybe the khaki color would be non-structured and the black color would be structured. It isn't cost effective to offer both structure choices in both color choices. And the inventory gets to be prohibitive, too.

But, regardless of the above, I would like to hear your thoughts. As much as possible I want to follow your wishes.

Here is what the above could look like:

I think they look great Len!!!

Well coming from a guy who gets alot of caps given to him from various vendors. I counted I am up the 18 for this year.

I do like the velcro strap also. Some of the brass buckle one's I have will loosen up, and in ND the wind never blows so you will be chasing your favorite hat down.

Here is a picture of the ones our corp. made up for us for deer rifle season.
This one is from Falkirk, but ours are the same. Ever plan a Blaze orange?

I really like the design (especially shape/contour of the black one) , but I'd also prefer the Velcro strap. I'd buy it either way though.:D

stiff (stands up on its own) or soft?

That is called "structured or non-structured".

I prefer non-structured, too. We'll see how many agree. Maybe one color in structured and the other color non-structured?

Hi Len, the hats look great! However I have to agree that I definately prefer the velcro strap over the brass buckle strap. As for Structured or Non- structured I am indifferent.

Len,

I like the design as shown... I would personally lean towards tan/khaki & unstructured, but I'd also like to say that I think a blaze orange version might be nice... what better way to promote 'our' sport than when in the field!

Len:

Somebody has to go against the flow. So, like I've said before, I prefer the structured type of hat and never have liked the buckle backstrap. Just personal preference really but with the buckle backstrap theres always a flap of strap hanging down loose and with a non structured hat you eventually have trouble seeing the whole logo on the front because the non-structured hat goes "limp" after being worn for a while.

When I had to work for a living I had several hundred hats of all kinds. It was just what happens when you deal with suckup vendors and suppliers all of the time.:):) These were in addition to the company hats I had made up and almost all of my guys preferred the structured type of hat as well.

I know the trend nowdays is to an asymetrical design on hats but have you given any thought to putting the LRH address on both sides of the bill? That way it's easy to read from either side. I kinda like the black as far as color goes.

The neat thing about hats is that no matter what you end up making available, everybody will want some.:)

I have the honor and priviledge to disagree with my good friend ss7mm.

Them hats look great as they are, having the address on both sides of the bill would not look as nice in my opinion.

Sorry Amigo!

You can't do that, it's not allowed to disagree............just kiddin my friend. Everybody doesn't agree on everything and never will. If everybody agreed on everything it sure would be a boring world huh?

Like I said though, bring on the hats in any "flavor" and we'll wear them Len. Might even get 'ol Javier to wear one too, if you make them right.:):)

Right On!

Put me on the list for any "flavor"!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :)

Black and blaze orange, structured, buckle and made in the USA.
I get the hats for our SP antelope hunt and you can get USA hats for little or no difference in some styles. I have a couple that do the embroidery in Germantown.
I wouldn't change the setup on the hats.
