Hi guys, I have heard there are a couple of videos out there that deal with long range shooting. I have shot before with some long range shots but this is a new level for me so i'm trying to get educated. I have heard about Beyond Belief and Defensive Edge Long Range Hunting. Has anyone seen these? Which do you recommend them or which is better? Is there any others that are worthwhile for a newbe like me. Is there any one that wants to sell there videos? Added comment from member about Shooteready.com if the simulation is worth playing around with or even purchasing as a practise tool?

Re: Long Range Shooting Video

I just recieved the defensive edge video send it . It was $19.95 before shipping and worth every penny . I like the fact that you can call shawn up or post him on this site and he's willing to help with any questions concerning long range hunting and shooting . He makes a mean muzzle brake to..........

Re: Long Range Shooting Video

Yip, you will watch Shawns DVDs more than the Playboy channel ,believe me !

Worth every dollar.

Re: Long Range Shooting Video

Shooterready.com has a neat long range simulation program (free demo) maybe worth looking into. Although being new to this stuff you probably should get videos first, as program requires knowledgement in longrange adjustments, and to be familiar with tactical scopes. Feel free to post back with any questions on it.

Re: Long Range Shooting Video

Just took a look at thier website Shooteready.com anyone test this program or simulation out? If its worth the money at as a practice application in the real world?

The biggest thing the simulation does is that it forces you to learn to range with your tactical scope and makes YOU do the math for correct range and windage adjustments. Example Bullet drop @ 925 yards is 187''s what do you need dailed in your scope 187/9.25 = 20.25"elevation on turret. Not sure how far you consider long range to be, but for me its past the point where hold over is no longer precise enough. Nothing beats real world experience. Get the videos, faster to learn with something or someone to learn from.

I've seen videos made by a world champion rifle shooter that could be used as anesthesia in an O.R. Shawn's Long Range Hunting Video has raised the bar on outdoor videos. No voices being washed out by wind or background noise, no body functions inadvertently on tape, and the video content is densely packed with information while being interesting to watch.

His video, "Send It" is every bit as good as "Beyond Belief", but both are worth watching.

Sorry to bring this back to life, but since I will be buying some videos when I go back to the states, I thought I would see if anyone else had suggestions on videos to buy while I am there.

I have really learned a lot from this 5 DVD set and highly recommend them.

Magpul Dynamics™ The Art of the Precision Rifle, 5-Disc DVD Set
The Art of the Precision Rifle features nearly ten hours of actual live fire class instruction and additional instructional material on five DVDs.
