Hey all, I am in the market for a new brass tumbler and was hoping to get some opinions on what is good and what is not.

I am not wanting one that is super expensive, somewhere in the $60 range. Any pointers you all have is sure appreciated.

Thanks

The Lyman does what it is supposed to do. It is noisy. Whether it makes more noise than others I do not know. It has a small capacity and large capacity bowl.

I also have the Lyman and like it. I can tell you that it is quieter than a RCBS. I set it on a high density foam pad and it really isn't bad for noise. I recently switched from walnut hulls to corn cob and great prefer the corn cob. Less dust, less media stuck in primer holes, and cleaner brass.

+1 on the Lyman

Mine has served me very well, although I never do use the Autoflo feature. It's quicker, cleaner, and easier to just pick it up and dump it out and sift the media back into the tumbler.

I got the Franklin tumbler and it does what a tumbler should do and it was like 40-50 bucks. Can't complain and when it craps out, I'll just buy another one. Cheap and simple, just how I like it. -Jake-

LRHWAl,
I had not thought of that, but you are correct.
My tag name is derived from my field trial dog:

The Frankford Arsenal tumbler is hard to beat. I have 2 of them and the oldest has probably run 60-70000 pieces of brass through it, not to mention 20-30000 pieces of loaded pistol ammo(for about 2 minutes per batch to clean the lube off of them) and moly coated a few thousand bullets.

Mine is plenty quiet, my reloading room is across the hall from our bedroom and with the door shut to the reloading room it is quiet enough to let it run at night.

I think Midway has them on sale right now for $45, if either of mine ever do give up the ghost then another just like it will fall in my basket there:D
