Anybody have pet loads for this bullet? I read somewhere that RL-17 is a good choice and I have several pounds of it. Let me know what you have had good luck with. Thanks
Contact Berger Tech support. I cannot speak in .30-06, but I have had very good success on .300 WSM with 215 Berger and RL-17.Anybody have pet loads for this bullet? I read somewhere that RL-17 is a good choice and I have several pounds of it. Let me know what you have had good luck with. Thanks
My rifle is a 32 inch 1-9 twist for 1 mile use. So accuracy and velocity are very important. I chambered this rifle with a Serengeti chamber reamer from PTG. Thanks for the help.If that's a 10 twist you're golden all the way up to 3200FPS if you can push it that hard. H4350 is good also and almost temp insensitive. The site I use shows it in maximum accuracy at 2700FPS.
Out of .30-06?The 245gr EOL elite hunter is more suited for the 9 twist up to 3000FPS.
What realistic velocity are you expecting to propel the 215 Berger out of your .30-06? 2600 FPS for the 215 Berger is a realistic target velocity. I have a .30 Gibbs. My rifle is a 32 inch 1-9 twist for 1 mile use. So accuracy and velocity are very important. I chambered this rifle with a Serengeti chamber reamer from PTG. Thanks for the help.
The barrel twist is for bullet stabilization, not velocity. I do not think his .30-06 has enough case capacity to propel the 245 to 3000 FPS. The .300 RUM propels the 230 Berger out of 26" at 2800 FPS.If it's a 9 twist, yes.
Are you sure that monolithic chunk of copper wont blow up?The Hammer 213 is a good fit . . . . and I highly doubt it will blow up.
