I am looking for opinions on which Kestrel most long range hunters and competion shooters find to be the most helpful. I believe I have it narrowed down between the 2500 and 3000 with the slight edge to the 3000. Just thought I would ask for opinions on something I may be overlooking before I order one.
Also is there any of the sponsors on this sight that have them? I would order from them before I went elsewhere.

I have the 2500 and have got along just fine. But I wish I would have stepped up to the 3500 so I would have humidity.

The 2500 has altitude and baro pressure and you need those.

The 3000 has neither.... so you need to do the 2500 or better yet the 3500 as ss 7mm stated above.

Here is their comparison chart link.

As usual, Dick is all over it. I asked this very same question some time ago and Dick answered my question back then. I went with the 3500 and I'm glad I did.

Who is this Dick guy anyway?

LOL...j/k. As he and Coues Sniper said....the 3500. You might as well purchase it now as you will want it eventually anyway.

I agree with the other, definately get the 3500 IMHO it is the bst one for the Long Range Hunter. I have also used the 4000 and the 4500 and IMHO the 3500 is the way to go

i like the look of the 4500 it has all of the fetures and it's water proof and floats i like any electonic gear to have that feature as i don't want to have to worry about it geting wet. i just ordered mine i am expecting it any day now

Good luck with your Kestrel. I've never had a single problem with mine.

Just remember though, don't have your hand wrapped around it if you're going to check humidity.

This is from a previous post.

You probably already know this but, you have to be careful how you hold a Kestrel when checking humidity. There is a hole on the back and if your hand is near it you can make it vary quite a bit.

And the screen display is more difficult to read than the 3500. The 4500 display 3 lines of data therefore the letters are smaller and harder to read than is the 3500 which displays 1 line of info in larger lettering
