We need a thread for member who rip off other members

Maybe a feedback forum so we can list members with positive and negative feedback from deals. AR15.com runs an excellent example, check it out.

I understand where you're coming from, but it's kind of a double edged sword. If people really get to fighting we could lose the classified section...

This is an important but VERY tricky situation. I have never been in favor of it because there is such a huge potential for unfair characterizations. Without a full-blown jury trial in some of these situations, how do we know who is right when a complaint is aired.

I agree. I got stung earlier this year though I haven't pursued it (not a big deal, just principal). I do know now that I won't be dealing with anyone but active members from now on.

My guess is that the percentage of BAD transactions is VERY small and not worth the potential trouble of such a thread.

You can use a 3rd party website like [ HEATWARE.com ] to evaluate both seller and buyer on the transaction.

When I see something in the FS/FT section that I may want. I first look at the users registered date and how many posts he/she has. If they are relatively new or have low post counts, I'll just go back to looking. No offense to any new members or low posters, it's just my criteria.

Sometimes if I'm not sure I'll ask if they have an Ebay account, and check their feedback. I bought a gun from a a member on here Monday that only had one post. He gave me his phone number and email address, and I talked to him on phone so I felt comfortable with the deal, and I received the gun today.

I had inquired about some reloading equipment from a poster that had 4 or 5 post, all of which was in the for sale section. I had asked for feedback from other forums. He/she asked me to PM about the inquiry. I asked for screen names and forums. That was @ 1 to 1 1/2 months ago. Never got a response and as far as I have seen, this person hasn't posted since that time. Albiet the member has since logged into they're account, just never posted a reply.

Maybe I am a little paranoid, but ever since I can remember, it was drilled into my head not to trust anyone.

I have given thought to ebay feedback, but I can't get past the thought of someone going to Ebay searching for less than 5 minutes, coming up with a screen name with good feedback and passing that account off as they're own.

I grew up trusting almost anyone unless they gave me reason not to. May have been the influence of my sainted mother, bless her.

Life is just too short to worry about these things.

I am VERY reluctant to consider buying anything, especially guns, from someone who justs posts here for that reason. On the other hand, I have a high level of confidence in the regular posters.

Ebay ratings can be helpful if someone actually has one. I use mine as a condfidence builder for the buyer. I also offer a 5 day no-questions-asked return policy so that the buyer is assured that he is getting exactly what he paid for. I have yet to have an item returned.

If I wasn't so lazy I'd have posted all kinds of shooting/reloading equiptment that is laying around here in great shape but isn't needed any more. Ahhh - maybe tomarrow.

Well said !!!!!

I feel the same about FOR SALE POSTERs only.

This does not make them dishonest but it does increase the odds of dealing with some one
less than honest, and without loyalties to this site.

On the other hand if the poster is active on other threads the chances are very good that he/she will be good to deal with.

I have had nothing but good experiences with my purchases on this site.

I do save all of my E-mail and PM,s untill the transaction is complete just in case there is a
problem.
