Light for night hunting?

What is a good light setup for hunting coyotes or bobcats at night by myself?

Thanks, Tom

I just bought the primos 350 yard light. In an open area u could see a` yotes eyes light up. Now if ur in the woods the light seems to shine off trees and back to ur eyes. The only sh!tty thing is the clip that goes on scope. See what i did was drilled 2 holes on the black plastic peice, then put a zip tie around everything now nothing can get knocked off , it still moves a lil bit side ways but ill get that bug out also.
The battery setup i think u cant beat it. Hook 2 ur belt and go! Now everyone will says lightforce, lightforce well if u have alot of money ok but every person i talk to who has them say they have to modify them. I think that the primos 350 yard light gets 4 outta 5 in my book.its light, bright, and hasnt let me down yet,

Eaglet and Dave, thanks for the info. After looking at these scope-mounted lights, I wonder if they could survive being strapped to a Beretta Extrema with 2 1/4 oz., 3 1/2" shotshells? Sometimes, I am going to have to use the shotgun, and it kicks like a mule. If I only hunt with the .220 Swift, these lights should work fine.

More questions; do you use the red filter? If so, how good is the light with the filter on it and does it spook predators? Do you have trouble seeing owls? I sure don't want to shoot one. Last question, have you ever brought pigs in on a predator call?

Probably obvious by now, I've never night hunted predators over a call.

Thanks again, Tom

Hey Tom,
yeah well as for the shotgun, give it a try and if something happens return it!
i used the red filter and it hasnt really spooked anything yet. now i also shined a white led light on a coyote the other night and watched it for about 40 seconds with a light in its eyes. now that primos light without the red lens is bright! put it this way mu uncle and i tested this.
we were hunting at night and the car was about 400 or so yards away and i shined my light on the car after a full nights hunting and the tailights lit up BIG TIME! now keep in mind i dont run this light constant (it will die quick) i just scan areas every now-then.
Like i said i like it . the only thing i wish was better is the way it mounts on scope. i changed mine , it still moves a little bit (sideways) but once u aligne the bulb with ur scope its good even if the light spins a little b.c u can spin it right back and it will be on as long as u can eyeball it. now i am thinking of another way to make it not spin. i like it tom. everyone has their own opinoin
