I'm in the market for a range finder and was wondering what everyone is using. I would also like to hear what everyone thinks is is the best manufacturer of range finders.

Do some searching under optics forum. There has been plenty of talk about them. Hard to weed through at times. For under a grand I would say the Swaro laserguide 8x30 or the Leica CRF are the two most liked. And now the new Zeiss Victory mono is worth a look too.

Good luck.

How far you ranging? If your new to the forum then your just beginning like I was. I thought that a lieca 1200 was good enough now that I am building a rifle superior to my rangefinder I wish I knew about this forum earlier and found something that reads farther becouse sooner or later 1200 yds is nothing with capabilities of rifles nowa days.

here is a link to a thread with good info . Broz is trying to get it figured out .

Thanks for the info there is more to picking out a range finder than I thought. I guess that I'll have to look into what my needs are and try to find one that is the best for my needs are.

I personally use a Leica CRF 1200, I love it. Great clarity and precision. You cant go wrong with either the Leica or Swarovski. When you've done your research and made a decision, check out my website. usagunclub.com.

I have a Newcon 2000 pro and it works good, ranges out to 1700 yards easy, most of my shooting is around 1000 -1100yds and it does that easy. I have never seen a swaro and would like to try one beside my newcon, but for the price I am happy with the newcon

hey elkstalker how accurate are the newcon rangefinders. Do the readings change when ranging the same target to get a average reading on the distance. Also is there any web site that have some info on these I've never heard of them.

it seems to be really accurate, will give same readings when I go to different target then back to the orginal one, 2 of my buddies have them also $499.00 batttery life is good also

dont know about all those high dollar range finders but i got a bushnell 1500 arc and it has gone to 1203 yards so far and i only used it once at trees so i am thinking i must have gotten a good one for $399 cabelas . need to get out an use it some more also have a leupold rxll and that thing i wouldnt recomend to any one , wont range over 250 - 300 yards , for the money it is no bargan , works great for bow hunting though...

How are they in rain, bright sun light, low light, etc?

What is their readout like?

Thanks,

Mark
