I just purchased a Savage 16FCSS 223 to hunt coyotes. I need a scope (4-16X50?) to mount on the gun, any recommendations?gun)

geargrinder...can you provide a link of some sort for your scope? I'm looking at the Bushnell website and sure can't seem to find it.

Here is this scope # and specifications but not the picture they are showing. They have the wrong picture on it.

Here is a picture of the scope on my Savage 112.

If you're just wanting to hunt coyotes with it, I would go with a 3-9 Leupold VX-II

Go for the higher magnification if you plan to shoot prairie dogs at longer ranges

Whatever you do don't buy a centerpoint, every time I go hunting I have to rezero mine.

Ummmmmmmm I see a cheap tasco, bushnell or simmons in your future.:D Seriously you should maybe look into something else. I would hate to have to re-zero everytime I went out.

Respectfully,

sixgun,
I just bought a Nikon Buckmaster 6-18x40 and I am impressed to say the least. I tried it out at 560yds on my 112BVSS in .300WM and it tracks great. I ran it up 7MOA (300yd zero), back .5MOA and put 3 180gn Ballistic Tips in 3.6". Not too shabby for a $300.00 scope and a $500.00 used rifle. I actually like it better than my Leupold Vari-X III that I have on my 700P in 7mmRM. It's a 4.5-14X40 and has heavy duplex. JohnnyK.
