I live in the Blue Ridge Mountians of Va. I'm 55 and I've been around bow's, and guns all my life, but I'm just getting started on long distance shooting 500 yards and out.
My weakness is guns and motorcycles.gun)

Looks like to me you can do quite a bit with what you have.
Main thing is to practice from field positions and to have optics that are reliable/repeatable and or have good reticle systems, and then just have fun.
The more you start to find out what your niche is, you will have a better idea of what specific direction(s) you will lean toward.
Have fun, be safe, and be yourself.

For instance:
I do the majority of my hunting and shooting with specialty handguns.
Why? I like doing it and like the challenge of it.
