You may want to look at the Bore Tech co. as well. It has an OAL of 1.8" and only 245 grns. They are claiming .869 BC for a solid. Could be interesting. One guy on Midway complained that a 1:11 was not enough. So a 1:10 may be the prefered. Just thought I would put that out there.
I wish they would come out with an A-Max for the .338.

the 250 has been out for a year or so. i shot some last summer. they're supposed to release their 300 A-max some time in the near future.

OOOOOOOOOOO, wonder what type of balistics that will produce. Should be interesting. I bet it will be a hard hitter, and affordable to boot! Can't wait for the 300's to be out.
I got two boxes of the Hornady .338cal 250 grain BTHP Match last week. I will load them in my .338 Win Mag when I get a chance and let you know how they go.
I have tries the 300 grain SMK's but the trajectory of the 250 grain Hornady projectile should be a lot flatter acording to my Exbal program, retained energy should also be not too far behind the Sierra's either.
One thing I did notice about the Hornady's though is that they have rolled closed the meplat on the nose of the projectile. With the 300 grain SMK the hole seems to very a bit in size and one side some times looks higher than the other. Obviously this dose not hurt accuracy as they have a good reputation.
The Hornady projectiles do look a neat and well finished bullet.

if the Hornady hollow point is rolled shut, that would make them different than the 250's i purchased last year. mine had a very large opening much bigger than the Sierra. i liked this as i thought it would open better/more consistantly combined with their peanut butter jackets on deer sized animals.
i never tested the claimed BC of 675. mine didn't look like they would be as good as the Sierra's which have around 59. Hornady's have a shorter boat tail, shorter ogive to tip and oal not as long.

Interesting... I can't wait to see what happens. In Queens I imagine you can shoot as far as you need to. Keep us updated. I was a long time Sierra fan, but recently converted to Hornady's for cost savings. I have noticed that price difference isn't much anymore. Again, let us know.

I have a box for sale cheap and part of another box. When the new ones came out I tried them and could not get groups out of them. I liked the BC and have had good success with other hornady bullets but could not get these to shoot. Now I have the extra bullets I will never use. My favorite go to 338-378 will shoot anything good, it is just an awsome shooter. I tried these at a quarter mile and couldn't get these to shoot better than 9 inch groups when most accuracy loads shoot in the 2" range at that distance out of this rifle. Definite target shock when I looked at that target.
