What might cause an Oehler 35p to read way high? Buddy was loading 22-250 to speer manual specs and registered 5200fps. That would be cool but I doubt it was within 1000fps of that number.

The screen spacing may be wrong for the setting in the unit.

Screens are To close to the rifle.

Poor light

Weak batterys.

Or just something wrong with the chroney.

Oehler will still work on there units and are very timley on getting it back to you.

Thanks I'll check out all of the above. He has only had the chrony for a short time and my not have known how to set it up correctly.
 
Screen spacing or dip switch positions would be my guess. Chronograph error should be evident with the proof screen readout.

Did you get that reading from BOTH readings? If so, check above.
