Looking to have a custom 270win built. I have always wanted a custom rifle and will spend up to 4000.00. Been looking at h-s and ed brown savanna. Any opinions on these gun makers? Any gun makers you suggest to check out?

Don't know where you are, but Kirby Allen would be my choice. He is linked on the site here. Allen Precision Shooting.

I'd also check out one of Nate's(Straightshot Gunsmithing) or Shawn Carlock's(Defensive Edge) guns.

Both of them have outstanding "Package" guns well under your target amount. Leaving quite a bit for some nice glass.

Both even garantee 1/2 MOA.

Any of those guys I'm sure would be great. I just know Kirby personally. Wasn't trying to exclude anyone.

Kirby goes by fiftydriver here. Send him a pm or an email, he has no website. Very friendly and quick to respond.

I thought of another person who you may want to contact. NesikaChad, hangs out here a bit. I think that he is just starting out his business. He is not a sponsor, but is around here quite often and seems to really know what he is talking about. Photos of his projects look like works of art.

Here is Chad's website.

I have a HS pro-hunter lite in 325 wsm. I really like the rifle, and I didn't have to wait very long to get it. It's pretty light, so it's not really what everyone on this site is into, but it shoots well and the action is smooth. Not sure if I like the clip yet, seems a little cheap for a rifle at this price. It's been averaging in the 3/8 inch range for 5 shots at 100 yards. Also I have been hearing some poor reviews of thier customer service, but I haven't had to talk to them so it's all hearsay.

BUT

If I was going to do it again, and I lived in the US. I would start with a custom action (maybe Lawton?) add a lilja barrel, timney trigger, HS stock (or mcmillan) and decent bottom metal. AND have it built by someone like Kirby Allen. You can have the best components but if they are assembled by a shmoe you will be disapointed.
