I am thinking about puting together another rifle using a savage action and a pac-nor barrel but i dont know what caliber to go with 7um or 300um or which one in everyones mind is the most accurate. I also would like any info on were to buy a savage action. Thanks

I like the 7mm with the heavy bullets. Just get a 9" twist or faster.

Get a hold of Jim Briggs. He owns Northland Shooter Supply. He only deals in Savage guns, actions, parts, barrels, Shilen barrels, and McGowan barrels.

I just ordered a 7mmWSM from him.

Jim can most often be found on the Savage Shooter forum.

I plan on shooting paper and other targets when i am not hunting whitetails during the fall. geargrinder does he have a website or someway i could reach him

The devil is in the details...... Bullet selection is part of the equation as well.

I have finally made a decision i am going with a manners MCS-T1 stock, savage action 30 inch heavy palma barrel in 300ulta mag and thinkin about having a fast enough twist to shoot the 240 smk's. I think that will suit me just fine. What do yall think.

The 240 SMK will be a yawner in the next 12 months.

With all the bullet develpments taking place nowadays, do yourself a favor and get a 1-8" twist barrel to shoot the longer versions as well as the 240 SMKs.

Just my 2 cents.
