has anyone here given the primos power dog a try, im thinkin about getting one and dont want to waste my money if it aint worth a diddly. randy anderson seems to think highly of it but that might just be money in his pocket for promoting it..

Got one a few weeks ago. For $159, it's a pretty nice caller. Has like 10 sounds or so, and the remote works out to 200 yards in the open and around 75 yds in woods/hills. Looked at all the "cheap call" out there and decided it probably offered the most for the buck. I can foresee the antennas breaking off easily, other than that, pretty slick. The display lights up when you press a button, so you can see whats up in the dark. You can change sounds, volume, start/stop via the remote. Volume is plenty for around here and the sound quality of the horn is excellent. Haven't been able to call in any critters, ever since the dog runners started stirring things up.

i was concerned with the volume on it. wanted to know if it had enough juice to buck a strong wind. hear people talking about some e-callers not being loud enough.

The volume on the powerdogg is lacking but a good call nonetheless. For 190.00 the Johnny Stewart PreyMaster 4 is a better start. I used mine last weekend and couldn't be more impressed for the $$. I got it to work 220 yds away from my shooting position. Heads up...The base got cold laying in the snow and seemed to mess with it a bit so I hung the base from a shooting stick and once it got off the snow it was working @ 100%

IF you do get it, get it from allpredatorcalls.com.....you get 2 free sound cards with the caller which adds to the value.

hung the speaker on top of the shooting stick, the snow was deep and didnt have anything else on hand to get it higher. you can see the base at the bottom 'hangin out with my cousin holding the remote.

would the humidity or rain affect the cards in these in any way, or are they in a sealed slot with o-ring and what not.

Just got the power dog Gander mountian had them on sale for 120... couldn't pass it up. Haven't used it in the field yet, played around with it at home. The controls are nice and easy to use just hit the arrow left or right till the name of the sound you want pops up on the screen and hit the center button then up or down for volume.

It has the same controls and lcd screen on the caller just like the remote so you don't have to use the remote if you don't want. The caller runs on 4 "aa" batteries which fit into a nice battery pack that you get two of to make changing batteries easy and the remote runs on 3 "aaa".

The volume is good but in a strong wind I think the sound will not travel far. I am going to hit the woods this weekend to see how it does, hopefully I'll my first dogs of 2009 with it.
