I am fairly new to long range shooting but really like it so far. I did this group with my Remington 700 ADL 7mm Rem. Mag and my 150gr. Sierra Match King Reloads. I havent even measured the groups because I am not familiar with how to do it. I just use a dime as a reference at a 100 yards. But anyway this is what it did at 500 Yards. Oh its a little beat up cause I had that thing in my wallet for a while, but I shot that group earlier this year

Looks like horizontal stringing to me, you should think about re-barreling or maybe trading it in all together for something that can really drive tacks.

Oh, I just noticed that's a penny, not a dime: you're going to need a better scope.

Seriously, good work. I would be happy to get groups like that at 100 yards out of some of the rifles I've owned!

Not an expensive rig, but I love it. We did a little experimenting with it. My friend trued all the surfaces. But we had to replace the barrel because a local gunsmith screwed it up when putting it together. So thats why it has a stainless barrel and a matte receiver. (The matte factory barrels were not available at the time) I just have a Leupold VX 1 4X12X40mm scope. I free floated the barrel myself. I adjusted the factory trigger to 2lbs.

As for the bullet spec...

Case: Federal
Primer: Winchester Large Magnum
Powder: IMR 4831 Weight: 61.9grs
Bullet: 150gr. Sierra Match King
Case Lenght: 3.300

Thanks for all the comments guys. I am so excited about this long range stuff, I'm gonna go make some bullets tonight so I could start practicing with my 300win Mag tomorrow!

Are you sure that is not one of those 12" antique collectors pennies you buy off those TV adds. :D

Just kidding that is some great shooting.
