Does anyone else get a virus warning and the browser shuts down when you go to Savage Shooters Forum? Just started happening to me last night.

I just took a look and had no problems of any kind.

What's the virus and which browser are you using"

The virus shows as "Trojan.Pidief.C" and the browser is Firefox. I have not tried it yet with IE, not sure if I want to actually...

I was just all over that site and no warnings of any kind. I use Firefox Ver. 3.0.4. Below is some info from Symantec's website. What anti-virus software are you using?

Discovered: February 9, 2008
Updated: February 10, 2008 9:55:12 AM
Also Known As: Exploit-PDF.b [McAfee]
Type: Trojan
Infection Length: 3,180 bytes
Systems Affected: Windows 2000, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows XP
CVE References: CVE-2007-5659, CVE-2007-5663, CVE-2008-0667, CVE-2007-5666, CVE-2008-0655, CVE-2008-0726, CVE-2008-2042
Trojan.Pidief.C is a Trojan horse that exploits the Adobe Acrobat and Reader Multiple Arbitrary Code Execution and Security Vulnerabilities (BID 27641) to download and execute files from the Internet.

Very strange, it shows as having been "cleaned by deletion" I have Symantec antivirus and Firefox 3.0.4 as well.

Edited to add: After further reading it seems it may be related to the version of Acrobat you are running. I will try updating that and see what happens.

Lately the site has been plagued by hackers and server problems. Jim has been working diligently getting everything cleaned up and is moving to a new server tomorrow.

Hopefully, everything goes smooth.

I got it to open in IE and read the thread about the server and hacker issues while the error message wanting to close the program was on the screen.

Hopefully they will get it straightened out in the near future.

Warning! This thread is more than 16 years ago old.
It's likely that no further discussion is required, in which case we recommend starting a new thread. If however you feel your response is required you can still do so.
