Yaterday I excanged two ex-prdinance rifles with a remington sps varmint in 22-250.
Someon eknow this rifle and this caliber?
Wich is the best pond for this caliber bullet? I woul use for shoot smal deer, caprioli, and volpi. that are like a small coyote...

Can't be easy posting questions in a second language. So I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "wich is the best pond for this caliber bullet?"

If you mean bullet weight, most factory .22-250 rifles come with 1 in 12" twist barrels. That's usually good for bullets up to 65 grains or so. I've always found Hornady V-Max bullets to shoot very well in mine. I prefer the 50 grain pills. But there's a wide variety of bullet styles and weights to choose from.

If you're asking about powders: with 50-60 grain bullets there are a lot of good, medium burn rate powders to choose from. I like W760 and Reloader 15. IMR4064, H380, AA2520 and Big Game have also worked well for me.

use bullets 40 grain to 55 grain. If you are reloading, what brands of powder are available in Italy? If not, then purchase a few types of ammunition and see what shoots best for your gun.

22-250 is great (explosive!!) for small non-game animals like squirrels, ground hogs, crows, coyotes, etc. Its not so great for deer because the bullets in 22 caliber usually have a light jacket, not designed for penetration.

However, if you make a head shot on a deer, it will work fine. Just don't plan on keeping the head!

the twist is 1:14, which is the most common twist for 22-250.

223 on the other hand, is most commonly 1:12 (in bolt action rifles).

And yes, V-max bullets are the best varmint obliteration bullets ever made, hands down, no doubt, no question and no comparison. End of story.

The Hornady 55gr V-max and 52gr A-max are great for small game. I have shot deer with sierra 55gr SBT and 55gr FMJBT. For powders Reloader 15 and H-380 have been my favorite. With a 1:14 twist I wouldn't bother trying to shoot anything higher than 55gr bullets. I have tried many 60gr bullets and have never been able to get them to shoot as good as the 55's.

In Italy we use Vittavuori, norma and, when we found IMR powders. I use mainly Vittavuori powder that is the less expensive one. I would use this caliber mainly for hunting foxes and ravens at long distance, more than my 222 do... if there is no wind, I think

V-max are very explosive. The SMK's are a little tougher I beleive, but the Blitzking is supposed to be pretty explosive too.

OMG, I re-read the post and I second old logger's suggestion for partitions. The IMNSHO (in my not so humble opinion... Just kidding) the partion is the only choice for a deer sized game in a 22 cal.

The Vmax is an explosive plastic tipped bullet ideal for crows and ground squirrels.

The Sierra Spitzer 55 grain might be ideal for fox is you want it to be fur friendly past 200 yards. Many powders to choose from including Varget, H4895, or Ramshot Tac

Check these burn rates against your Vihatouri powders.

Fox's are soft and easy to kill - reduced loads might be of interest to you for shots under 100 yards.

Also conisder a 40 grain bullet with W748 is very fast and flat.
The NOSLER 40grain ballistic tip is a known performer.

Look at barnes tsx/ttsx 45gr and 53gr bullets -if you reload your ammo.

They will cover everything from deer to varmints.

I bought this gun for something more powerful 222 with which I can shoot up to 300 meters, but less than my 308 or my 7 rem for hunting foxes and varmints up to, hopefully, 500 meters.
Today is holiday in Italy. Tomorrow I get my rifle and dies, that are in the gunstore, and try to start reloading. I let you know the results.
