SOLD/EXPIRED Fed 215M primers

I have somewhere around 700 F215M primers left in a brick I bought this summer. I moved from a .300 WM to a .338 Edge with different loads so I don't need them anymore. I have not done much firearm business over the internet/mail, so I don't know what the regulations are for shipping. If you are interested let me know and I can look into the rules. Thanks, Jason

I know the reciever pays a hazmat fee when purchasing from dealers, but I read on another forum that to actually ship the primers you have to be licensed for shipping explosive devices. Hopefully, it was wrong and the $20 hazmat fee is all that is needed. I tried to do a few searches but did not come up with a solid answer.

My experience is that as a shipper you will need a license. This came straight from UPS.

I'm pretty sure a private individual cannot legally ship primers or powder.

I searched through BATF's site, but couldn't find it.

Yes indivdual's can send UPS just declare they will stick a red HAZMAT sticker on the box and collect an extra $20. It's not a BATF thing that's why you couldn't find it.

And what kind of licence would that be? I never had a problem shipping live ammo just declare. I will check out UPS website for info and report back. We are talking UPS not USPS correct?

Mark,

You're correct, it is not a BATF thing.

But, the reason you can ship LOADED ammo, is because it's a totally different program. Put the red tag on and off it goes.

Now, to ship powder or primers through UPS, you have to take their training for Haz Mat, and then set up an account. I called them, so that's straight from UPS. If you can dig around and find something to the contrary, please post it.

Also, it's against the law to ship powder, primers, or loaded ammo through USPS. Don't do it !!

Yes I'm aware no USPS. I did go to UPS website and it was like trying to read and understand the IRS tax code. A few things I did come away with is that you have to be a "contract" shipper which I would guess includes the training you refer to. Another VERY important fact I noted was that "bull semen packaged in dry ice or liquefied gas is considered HAZMAT" Unbelievable the BS!
