Where could I find some load info on the 140g TTSX? It isn't in their most recent reload manual.

barnesbullets.com go to technical/load info....for the record they work as advertised.....extremely deadly. 1 17.5 inch 10 pt. ran 15 yds leaving a blood trail an idiot could follow obviously not needed. One nice doe..... ran 50 yds.... same scenario. Doe was running dead. can't figure how she went that far. shot placement was great. COURSE a 2 yr old could have followed the trail. After having poor results with other premium bullets In my riles, this will be the only projectile for deer and the like!

I have not had a chance to load the e-tip yet. I don't believe they were available when I was creating the load for my .280. Do they offer a 6.5? As Noslers are inherintly accurate, If my 6.5 x.284 doesn't like the Barnes I have on the way (ordered Saturday) I may try them. I was not impressed with the swift Scirroco II on Whitetail deer in my 6.5. That was where my research went this summer. Had one heck of a load. Performance was marginal at best on deer. I hope it was a fluke. However it was enough of a fluke for me to look elsewhere. My AR and .280 have both had great results with the Barnes. I want to get one with my 6.5 thus I went with what has proven success for me. It wasn't till the TSX and TTSX that I could get Barnes to be consistent without spending a fortune. I think it was a smart move for them. They do expand fully and do penetrate as well as exit. I only had one freak experience with the TSX. Deer was 10 yds (I was scouting) Not one exit hole but three. Deer was hit with a bout 2433 foot pounds at ten yds. It was pretty amazing the damage. It only went about 40 yds. When I cleaned the deer I could not figure out how it ran that far. The inside of the deer was DESTROYED. Luckily I aimed behind the shoulder and lost no meat. I don't believe I'd try that in the shoulder. It could get messy.

Not to hi-jack the thread, but would like to hear more about the Scirroco. What were you shooting, how far, how fast, and which bullet?

I have had two not expand. First was 225 yds in the shoulder. Deer dropped in it's tracks. I gave him 30 minutes......Went to retrieve. I got 40 yds from him and he got up and ran off. No blood. I have taken shots out to 500 yds probably 40+ deer over my lifetime in shoulder, neck and head with other guns. Have killed three since then with perfect shot placement. I do not consider myself an expert but have taken my share of game. The second was at 257. Shot again in the shoulder. Deer ran........I had maybe 25 yds of a blood trail (more like a nose bleed) then nothing. Found the deer a week later. Perfect shot placement. 1 inch behind the shoulder. No exit hole. The bullets didn't expand. I have shot three since then with barnes and recovered all three. I am not saying that the scirroco will not kill. I am just relating my experience for others. I hope both were flukes. I was comfortable enough on the first one after watching him fall through the scope, I texted my buddy to tell him how lethal they were. Little did I know what was in store. I have been hunting for over two decades and have only lost four deer. Two of which were in the same weekend with the same bullet. I do not believe I will try them again. I wish others the best as I am not trying to undermine a good thing, I am just relating personal experience.

I shot a doe last year at ultra-un-longrange. 75yrds. Deer was facing me. 150g Sirocco enter just to the R of midline. Plowed through lungs, chest, liver, and bowel. Nasty. Never found the bullet but there was zero blood to follow. She ran close to 100 yrds. Penetate yes. Like a laser.
I learned two things.
1)High shoulder shot/spine shot doesnt leave doo-doo on your meat
2)penetration does not always equal quick death.

Nope, they don't have a 6.5 yet. They look like they have a lot of promise, but have not been proven in the field except preliminary tests in Africa.

My buddy MT Mulie just shot a bull elk last weekend w/ the .308 180g E-Tip. I think he said he shot it at 450yrds and dumped it like you pulled a rug out from under it. Took the top of the lungs and some of the spine I think. Maybe he will chime in and tell story.
Up shot, the bullet performed very well.
