Scope for LR .22lr.

Wlfdg,

Now don't laugh but, I've got a Tasco 6-24X42 AO mildot on mine and it works MUCH better than I expected. Dials repeatably , Holds Zero , I can honestly say that I haven't had any issues with it.

I am going to stick a bushnell 3200 10x40 tactical on my .22 'long range' rig when I get round to it, aiming to shoot rabbits consistently out to 150-200 yards with it if I can. The bushnell has a huge elevation range (90MOA I think) and nice big knobs, glass is reasonably clear and 10x is plenty out to 200... and best of all, it's cheap :D which is what .22lr is all about.

Planning on using subsonics, I will need to range each shot precisely as at 150 yards the bullet is dropping 4 inches for every 10 yards, that's a small margin of error to hit a 5 inch high rabbit. Should be good for learning the wind, too.

If it ain't a first round hit, it ain't nothin'

I have a Leupold VX-II 6-18XAO on a .17HMR that works well. I imagine it would also work on a .22LR.

If I can remember right, I think the objective adjusts for parallax down to 50 yds, so you could also use it for more conventional ranges.

These are a little pricey, but IMO they work better than the <$100 scopes.

I have been using a Leupold VX3 ER 6x20 with turrets for a few years. I have used it on a SavageTR for hunting and competition from 10 yards to 200 yards and found the ability to correct parallax at ranges under 50 yards an important feature. Turret accuracy is excellent.

Originally had a Millett LRS-1 for my .22, but am trying to sell it and have a MidwayUSA special BSA 4-14 first focal plane Mil/Mil scope. Praised by all that actually own them. $249.99 with free shipping.

I love the Simmons scopes for .22lr. Low cost, clear glass, and holds zero very well. I wouldn't put much more than that on a .22 myself.
