I need a picture through a scope at 1k+

Sorry I don't have one at 1000 but this is one from 1670 yards. The view through the scope was much clearer than what the picture depicts.

Sorry about that. I just figured that was a given.

NightForce 5.5-22x56 at 1670 yards on 22x with parallax set correctly, reticle illumination off, set level w/reticle perfectly verticle, facing E/NE, 8:34 a.m., elevation 3856', .98 cosine angle, temp 41 deg, hum 46%, station pressure 25.21, wind from 7:30 at 12.5 mph, mounted in NF rings on Nesika 20 moa base, front 6-9" bipod w/PodLoc, rear Redman bag.

There we go, don't want to get it confused with anything else. Don't know why I didn't include all of the info the first time.;);)

Thanks for the pics!

Do you think 22x is enough for shooting at a mile? I'm deciding on a scope after my 338 Lapua Ackley is done...after I get a 31 on my ACT. :D

It's down to 5.5-22, 8-32, and 12-42 scopes I believe...Nightforce seems to be the consensus for long range shooting under the price of S&B's.

Whatever you end up with, make sure that with the zero range you want that you have enough elevation adjustment to get to the yardage you want with the round/load/bullet you use.

Some have 100 moa+ adjustment and some don't.

With quality glass 22x will work at one mile unless you're aiming at a very small target.;)

Some say that you can use the hash marks in the NF and gain an addition 20-30 moa but I can tell you that if you end up using the bottom hash mark to make up for a lack in elev. turret adjustment that you will be using a very limited field of view as opposed to dialing and using the center crosshair and thus using the full field of view. To each his own though.

You should consider mirage also. The higher the power, the more mirage will bother you. I have a 8-32x56 NF on a long range rifle and usually set it on 28 until the mirage begins. Then I have to back it down around 18 to 20 to get a "good" picture when at 1K.

300 grain Bergers with a .8 BC at 2900 fps would get me to 2k with under 75 moa drop...and I don't need to be trying near that until I can read wind.
