It is with tears in my eyes, an increased heart beat rate and only a little gas, I am pleased to report that Berger has heard and listened to those who desire a heavier offering in 277 caliber. It will be a while before they appear but if I keep in shape I'll still be around when they arrive.

I seemed to gather from his PM that the 338 offerings are well in advance of the 277 offerings.

Three cheers and a pat on the butt to Berger!

If you keep in touch with him and ask he just may send some 277 bullets for you to test before they come out on the market, what will be asked is that you send them info of what your loads were and if you have a chronograph use it and the size of the groups as they like to know as much as you can give them

Roy,

Could it be that the tears in your eyes are related to "a little gas"? I have some experience it that area, is why I ask.

That's great news for the .338 and .277 crowds!

I'd sure like to see them put out about a 220-230g .308!

I agree with you and I can't understand why they don't have a heaver bullet in that caliber. Personally I'd like to see them come out with about a 250gr 8mm bullet for my 8mm RM. I'm thinking there's not much chance of that happening though.

The reason is that their machine did not have enough stroke to make bullets long enough. They had to buy a new machine and get all the tooling prepared for it.

I have no idea on either one.

The 338 project is well under way, I anticipate something w/in months. I'm hoping for something at least in the 285 class but a 300 in the Berger configuration would bring tears to one's eyes. An possibly a little gas to ones bowels.:D

On the 277 side. To make any difference at all from the 150s, only a 170 class would make sense. I'm lobbying for that then a 200 class seeing as all one has to do, I think, is get a longer jacket and the 200 is a piece of cake.

I told Eric that he saved me thousands of dollars, as I was seriously considering wrangling Richard's Wildcat bidness from him. Wheww! that was close!
