How Do I Order a Leupold Mk4 LRT/M1 w/ Horus Vision Reticle?

I believe Scott at Liberty Optics mentioned being able to buy Leupold glass with the Horus H25 type reticle. However, I'm having a heck of a time finding out how one would order it even in the Leupold custom shop.

Anyone know? I'm assuming b/c of the Horus reticle, it will have to be FFP, right?

I'm looking at the Leupy Mark 4 LRT/M1 in 4.5-14x50mm.

Is the Horus reticle really any good or should I just opt for the Leupold Mk4 LRT/M1 in Metric Reticle with TMR? ***EDIT*** Apparently, if you get Metric Reticle, your only choice is Mil-Dot, not TMR.***

I'd like my turret adjustments and reticle to be in the same unit of measure.

Any help greatly appreciated. I'm a complete idiot when it comes to optics. This is my first optic purchase and I'd like to get it right.

TIA,
Sean

***EDIT2*** From Horus Vision's website: "Horus reticles are not sold separately from Horus scopes."....does this mean that S&B, USO (both out of my price range) nor Leupold have this reticle?

What this means is that Horus reticles can't be bought. Also, Lupy had some Horus reticles on disply at SHOT 2008 but never committed to carrying them in the Mark 4s...

I read your SHOT 2008 write up (btw, GREAT info, very informative....thanks for writing it).....where you mentioned being able to get the Horus reticle from Leupold, US Optics, or S&B.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean now about Leupold never being committed to carrying them in the Mark 4s.....does this mean you cannot get them then? It sounds that way, but maybe I have to call Leupold's custom shop??

Any clarification is appreciated.

I tried to order them soon after SHOT and I got a cryptic reply that they hadn't "decided" whether they were going to offer a Horus option to the public (probably one reason the SHOT is closed to the general public) as they were "toying" with the idea. Hmmmm

It is quite possible a call to the custom shop wil lresolve this, as summertime was when they were supposed to decide. I can also inquire for you.

I'll give it a shot Scott. Thanks for taking the tim to reply. :)

Take care,

I was interested in doing the same thing as you. After contacting various representatives, here's what I got. The Horus vision reticle is not offered in any of the Leupold scopes, but is offered in a select few spotting scopes from Leupold. The only way to get a rifle scope with the Horus reticle is to get the house brand, US optics, and a few other makers.

Hopefully they may decide to offer the Horus in MK4 scopes, I've been itching to try them out.

horus info

There are a few leupold scopes with horus reticles floating around and they show up for sale on the net. They used to and were available from premier optics then lupy got a bug in their *** and stopped doing business with them and put out a notice a few years ago and said they would warrany the scopes already horus equipped but none installed with any other reticle than leupold's own.Probably due to quality issues with leupold.do yourself a favor and get a really good scope.I bought a US Optics SN_3 with the horus h-25 reticle for 2k on the net and couldn't be more pleased.I've also heard the house scopes at horus are good scopes.Call Art at USO gun)

I'd love to....but just can't afford it. I'll contact Horus Vision and order a Raptor most likely.

Thanks for the tips though.
