i am actually haveing one made right now. it is a trued remington short action and will be chambered in 22-250AI. with a 26 inch 1-8 twist broughton barrel. hope to be shooting the 80 grain bergers and 75 grain v max. this should be a great varmate rifle.....smith is fluting it and then sending back to broughton to stress releive. so i should have it in about 1 month

I have a 22-250 Imp with a douglas 1 in 8 twist. It a rem 700 SA trued in a laminate tactical stock. I shoot 75 gr Amax 43 gr RL 19 @ 3525. My longest kill is 2 red fox at 900 & 910 yds. Just this weekend I got a woodchuck at 850 yds. I will admit a heavier bullet would be nice, but It weights around 12lbs and I can still watch the impact most times. My girlfriend has shot it 5 times and once she killed a chuck at 400yds and by her fourth shot she hit a 18" saw blade at 900yds. She almost put it in the 1" arbor hole in the center. I was impressed but I didn't tell her. She'll get a big head. All in all I love this caliber and the accuracy. Brass live is super and it's easy on the shoulder, ears, and wallet.

She is right handed. Any time I can incourage someone to get out and shoot I will. Looks like I'll be getting another rifle.(with a pink stock she says)gun)

Frank7mm - is it common for a 22-250 improved to shoot a 75 grain bullet at 3500+? Not too familiar with them but was looking at the middlested to get this kind of velocity for a long range 22 cal. How long of a barrel do you have? Any info is appreciated.

I have a 27" barrel. I have not found alot a data that supports my velocity. I'm seating the a-max well into the lands with a hot load. The primer looks good and some of my brass is on it 8th loading. I had a middlestead shot good, but alot less work with a 22-250Imp(don't have to neck turn if you don't want to). I can't say if my results are typical or not? Hopfully others can answer your questions better. Good luck either way you go.

like i said i only have a month to go and i will be able to tell you.

i am wondering how many rounds do you have through that gun. how is the throat erotion?

About a 1000 so far. I don't have a bore scope, but I loaded a dummy round and keep it with my dies. With it seated into the lands I can measure the marks on the bullet. The marks now are about .005-.007 shorter. I know that is not very accurate. I'll have to save and get a bore scope.
