264 win mag loads

My father in law has a 264 win mag. next weekend we are going to load up some rounds using differnent powders and different bullets in effort to find a good load for his rifle. he is wanting to stay at 140 grains. does anyone have a good recipe they wouldnt mind sharing? thanks alot guys!

I have had good luck with IMR 7828 with 140 gr. nosler partition. I get 3100 fps with 65 grains in a 24 in barrel and <1" at 100 yards and about 1.75" at 220 yards. This a max load in my rifle so work up....

But is he willing to sacrifice 10 grains of bullet weight for the extra velocity, so long as it is a good bullet?

If so, I recommend giving the 130 Accubond a try with Ramshot Magnum, H1000, Re22, or IMR7828SSC.

If not, 140 Berger VLD, H1000, Re22 or 25, Vihtavuori N165, or N560.
