duracoat pre-cleaner?

I am getting ready to duracoat a couple barreled actions. What do you guys use as a post blasting cleaner? I was thinking about brake cleaner because I like to blast the stuff off with out using a rag. I also considered acetone. I don't have any of the duracoat cleaner and would like to get these done this weekend. Thanks

wipe them down realy well with Acetone or MEK (carefull with that) after they dry either bake them for an hr at 200 degs or so or lay them out in the sun for a few hrs then wipe down again with the cleaner. The heating after the first wipe down will help "leech" some of the oil and grease in areas like the recoil lug/barrel joint which can cause major headaches later.
You gotta be carefull with some brake cleaners as some have a bit of oil in their , not nearly as much as carb cleaner but enough to give you troubles.

I just use acetone in a spray bottle and "hose" the parts off with it let drip dri and be done

I have been using laquer thinner with pretty good success. I too use a spray bottle, then set in sun to heat up a little and give it another soaking. Degeasing is VERY important. Had to learn this the hard way, kinda like everything else. lol.

careful using a spray bottle for acetone or any other highly volatile solvents. Atomizing the solvent creates an explosive mist which can catch and yes, explode!
