I have used the 7mm 200 grain WC for pd's deer, antelope, and elk. Accurate and perform great.

I read on the website under the gallery about the tuff nuff bullet or something out of an stw? do you know where i can get some info on the bullets such as BC etc. Pretty interesting reading on the bullet theory. How do they hold up or are they more of a long range bullet?

Another vote for the 7mm 200 grain Wildcat bullets.

I've killed deer from just under 100 yards to just under 900 yards and all were bang flops and no bullets recovered. Also one elk at just under 700 yards same bang flop but I did recover what was left of the bullet after it traveled most of the length of an elk.

What do you think about the 150 in the 7 mm STW? I was thinking i could probably keep th velocity up around 3200+ and yet have a pretty good BC. I read more on teh site and noticed they were bonded as well. These bullets have me interested for sure.

One thing I'd recommend to anyone that doesn't already have it, is to buy QuickLoad. Used properly it will answer questions you can't get answered any other way unless you have unlimited funds and time. It's one of the things I've got that I wouldn't be without.

You can play "what if" with any caliber, barrel, bullet etc. and never leave your computer. It's a computer program and not real world stuff but once you learn to use it properly and input everything necessary it will get you very close.

You really need to call the bullet maker or drop him an email. Get the information first hand and not through the grapevine. The first thing he will tell you is that he is not responsible for what other say and this is correct. Just talk or communicate directly with him. Much less hassle and fewer disappointments.

Chawlston, if that is true then why do you make posts about other people's bullets. Perhaps you should follow your own advice. After all, you have claimed several times to be a truthful and honest person.

Crawl back into your hole buffalobob and please don't ever come out again until you can get your stories straight. I only made legitimate posts about the bullets that I had actually used (only .30 caliber versions)......... I was disappointed with the customer service (answering emails and the phone calls) with respect to the aluminum tipped ones (both .30 and 338) and that is why I told him to go directly to the source. It is always easier to go straight to the source. If you can't get to the source, switch brands. Very simple.

Now, BB you have successfully again brought up something that is incorrect in an attempt to zing me. Unfortunately, it also involves someone else. Buffalo Bob, don't just go, go away.

WC 200 grainer

blacktail,
The 200's would not stabilize in my factory 1-9.5 twist 7mmSTW. Good velocity but sideways in the target at 100yards. Just info for you if you have a factory barrel.

One more point BB, if you are a 30 cal shooter and just have to shoot wildcat bullets (to prevent from cheating someone), get you some of the wildcat 265 bullets in .30 caliber. They shoot very well out of a 30/378 8" twist barrelled gun. I mean very well (probably better than you can shoot yourself). The only drawback is that they are not as ballisticlly slick as the 220s we are currently testing.

For instance, the max speed out of the 265 is right at 3000 fps. The max speed out of the 220 in the exact same gun is 3300 fps. Now even a feeble-minded gent as yourself can do the math and figure out that there are 300 fps on the table in favor of the 220 before you find out the BC of the 220 is even higher than the 265!

I don't want you to cheat anyone BB, so get youself some 265s and remain the inferior person that you are, have been and will continue to be.

And, if you cannot get some of the 265s I still have some of them that I will sell you at the current market price.

Have a nice day and don't cheat anyone.

In the STW, the 200 gr ULD will be marginal in a 1-9. I would recommend a 1-8 or 1-8.5 with this class of chambering.

In the 7mm RUM, in most cases the 200 gr will stabilize in a true 1-9 barrel but still I would prefer a 1-8.5 class barrel.

In my 7mm AM I have yet to see a 1-9 not stabilize these bullets at its higher velocity range but I am still leaning toward a 1-8.7 twist in barrels under 28".

As far as GreyGhosts bullets and the discussion that BB and LV are having. BB, I have read everything LV has posted about these new bullets but from my past dealings I wanted to talk to the maker directly. I did and asked him for his details on his bullets. Basically he gave very little information and instructed best thing to do would be to order some bullets and see what performance I got with them. I did order 100 of the 220 gr 30 cals to test in my 300 AX and will make a full report on them when they get here.

I suspect they will perform very well.

Interestingly though, GreyGhost told me exactly the same thing that Richard would tell customers, try them for yourself and see what results you get.

I will admit that Richard can be hard to get ahold of but that is just because he is not a full time bullet maker.

Simply put, I would have to agree with LV, do not believe what others say about bullets, get them and test them for yourselves, that includes the reports he has posted. I would not take them for gospel, just as he has recommended everyone does with the Wildcat bullets.

My only concern with GreyGhosts bullets is simply cost. They are spendy but all bullets are getting spendy.

Will I stop using Wildcat bullets because of GreyGhosts bullets, certainly not but another quality bullet option for my customers is never a bad thing but I will fully test them before recommending them to my customers.

If my customers do not believe me about any bullet performance, I really do not believe they should be intrusting in me a rifle build project.

Personally, there are a host of people on LRH that I would read a bullet test result and fully believe, in fact, I see no reason why I would question most test results from those on LRH. I think we can trust each other on here but again, its always best to do your own testing if you want to find out exactly how a new product performs.

No need to get fired up on either side, just another bullet option, how is that a bad thing. But a new bullet coming out should never be a reason to attach another bullet maker who also makes a fine product. This I do not understand.......

I will post some results when I get the bullets heading my way. I assure you I will be just as fair and truthful as I was testing any of the Wildcat bullets. It serves no one any good to not post truthful test results.
