MV was 3900+ 5 shot groups BT shot under a 1/2MOA at 100 yards and Silvertips shot over MOA same distance. Any one want to take a shot at this? Yep. Those bullets have different friction characteristics traveling down the bore. One has lubalox, one doesn't. Change friction, change pressure. When you change any characteristic, you can get different results, as you have now seen.

I've even seen this when bullets were of identical make, but many years separated the lots. The ogives were quite different, and I noticed a difference. Wasn't much, but you could tell.

Nosler 2nds won't be an issue. These are either an overun of previously ordered bullets, bullets with visible blemishes, or tipped with different color than norm. I have a ton of the 180 ABs tipped orange with a cannelure. They shoot exactly like the regular white tipped ABs.

I would be surprised if anyone ever paid full price for Nosler bullets if they are available in 2nds. Nosler states that there is no affect whatsoever on bullet flight or performance with their 2nds.

Pull the CT Btips or use them for practice.

I have shot both of those bullets out of a 7mm08, and had just the oppisite affect, the CB 's shot better, i played arround with different powders, and oal's and got the nostlers to shoot just as good, but had to work up a load/lenth to the gun, to get the better groups!, now bot will hold a 1/2'' 5 shot group,at 100yds!, but to keep things simply just stick with the noslers! less likely to mix up!

The only Issue with 2nds and first fo r that matter is teh differences form lot to lot. I am talking base to ojive. I shoot nosler but find them to vary widely lot to.

For the CT sliver tips..I found them to shoot as well or better. Actually I had a hard time getting better groups with reloads than with the Winchester Supremes in 150 CT silver tips. Shot like crazy.
