Kirby Allen Rifles

Is there a thread that shows pictures and reviews of Kirby Allen rifles? I have tried the search engine.

Welcome aboard.

Accuracy and LRH is addictive. Be careful. There are no deprogramming systems developed to save you.:D

Nothing out there that is consolidated, that I know of.

Rifle pictures thread may have some.

Allen Shooters Group thread may have pics also.

I've never heard any negatives about the APS rifles or the Allen Magnum cartridges.

I have no complaints with mine.

I'm dreamin' about my next one.;)

Welcome to Long Range Hunting.

They're scattered all over the site. Here's a couple of rifles he built. 7mm AM on the left and 270 AM on the right.

Man, I hate everyone that has a rifle made by Kirby. Well, I dont hate you but I am very very jealous of you. He builds some beautiful sticks. ss7mm, what kind of scope is on your 270AM?

The 7mm AM has a NF 5.5-22x56 and the 270 AM has a Sightron SIII 6-24x50 on it.

Does anyone want to review their rifle made by Mr.Allen or have any comments? You can send me a private message if you wish. I am really interested in all information to fit, finish and accuracy to his rifles.

Fit - Excellent
Finish - Excellent
Accuracy - Excellent
Communication and help - Excellent
Service before, during and after the build - Excellent
Support on anything you ask of him - Excellent
Support of any and all on this site - Excellent
Knowledge about anything related to long range hunting/shooting - Excellent

Picture of 2 of his guns done for my buddy and I have already been posted in this thread.

Would I do it again with him - In a heartbeat;);)

What more can I say, search will get you hours of reading. Most that have his work have already posted pics and results on this site as well as animals killed. I've killed 4 deer and 1 elk with my 7mm AM and all were bang flops.

This is the story of my rifle - a 7AM and killing a 6X6 at 968 yards. The rifle placed two rounds within three inches of each other at that range under extremely adverse shooting conditions, both of which would have been fatal alone.

Of course, a person should also say a few kind words for Richard Graves who make some really great bullets.

Now then, I had plans to kill an antelope at 1500 yards or a mile with Tiger Stripes this coming season but those plans are on hold at the moment. I may still do it but I may not. This is some of the equipment needed to kill at a mile. The rifle is capable of four rounds in 0.488 MOA at 1563 yards under hunting conditions and I think under decent shooting conditions (chiefly wind is the issue) that it will hold 0.5 MOA to a mile and perhaps 2K.

I would also say a few words about Kirby as a person. He is very professional and very honest with you and honest with your money. He is responsive to emails and easy to work with. He will try hard to deliver a product that will make you satisfied.

270 Am

I have a 270 AM that looks alot like JoeCool's except mine is right handed and has a fluted barrel. My barrel is 30" + brake. I have a 5.5X22X50 Nightforce for a scope on it.
The fit and finish are superb. Kirby is a detail person and works very hard to build what you want. When he ships the rifle it will come with lots of info on loading details for that particular rifle, because he will have shot and loaded shells for it and can tell you what the first groups out of it where. The communication is second to none as he prepares to ship your rifle to you, like I said he is a detailed man. I plan on having him build me a lighter rifle for walking deer and antelope hunting, so I guess you can say I am plenty happy with the first one he built for me. If he cannot make you happy with one of his long range rigs, then happiness may not be possible for you. Good Luck, you cannot go wrong with Kirby and I second the comment on Richard Graves and his bullets. Both are great guys building a great product.

If you look back at the post by ss7mm, you can take that times two. Although I haven't any rifles from Kirby, he has built four XP's for me. I couldn't be happier. They all are extremely accurate. When I have the fifth XP built, Kirby will build it too. On top of his workmanship, he is a great guy to deal with and a true gentleman.

Kirby is definitely a top shelf guy and takes pride in his work. He treats you more as a friend than a customer. I do all of my own work. So it was a little difficult to have someone else build one for me. I decided to have Kirby build me a rifle after several conversations with him. After recieving the rifle I was very pleased. I wish he would take on an intern/helper, then I would apply:D. Here she is:
