It looks like you're doing a nice job putting it all together. I have never owned a bolt action Savage, but they are starting to grow on me. What kind of groups are you getting with it?

I have had it less than 2 weeks and it has been raining allot so I've only got 2 shots through it so far. I'm doing the slow 1 shot clean process right now.

I was really amazed that this gun didn't have as much recoil as I expected! The butt stock pad is real cushy, and the length of pull is perfect, so maybe thats why? It is more enjoyable to shot than my 270win. , but it has a hard butt stock pad, and its length of pull is a little short. I now see how this makes all the difference in the world!light bulb I'll let you guys know how it groups when I get some more shots in! Thanks Nathan, gun)

If I may suggest. Put a new stock on your list of planned upgrades. The factory plastic stock is known for its flexibility, especially with a bipod.

I have put a Stockade Pdog/Tactical on my Savage. I'm very happy with the price and performance. Bell and Carlson Medalist are also highly recommended for Savages.

I had on my list the Choate Sniper Stock, but looking at others also.
