Well, I'll chime in from the Great State of Texas. Went looking for long range coyotes and pigs this weekend, but they all wanted to come in close. Our group killed 39 pigs, 3 turkeys 1 coyote, 4 rattle snakes and some turtles.

OK "There is a 600/1000 f-class match at Pascagoula MS", but you already knew thay eddybo, because you responded to my thread in the competition forum. The only thing near me is Steel City that has a 300 yard shoot on a 600 yard range (doesn't make sense to me, some legal issue about houses way behind the berm/mountainside).

F-class

Eddybo..... Would you please tell me a few things about F-Class shooting. Would like to see if I have something to shoot in one

What ever you have, you can shoot in FClass (for the most part). They have 2 divisions, open/bring what you got and F/TR which is 223 or 308 and they have certain other requirement. US and Canada have a few variations in the F/TR division with "Palma" rules as well. Just GOOGLE FClass rules or regulations and you should find some sights with full rules.
Hope this gives you a starting point.

Thanks for info about F-Class. I will look that site up and get the rules. Hopefully there will be a list of places where they will be. I am not saying that I will just show up and shoot in one, but I would like to watch and maybe get some idea as to what is going on. See if I had something good enough to shoot with them or it may be out of my league. Regards Jimgun)

Jim,
I missed your post. Most of the matches I attend are south of you a good bit, but if in your search you find some matches near the middle of the state let me know. If you dont have anything you feel comfortable shooting I will bring an extra gun and enough loaded rounds for the match. You will have a blast.
I was told that the SWgun club is going to start a f-class match in Brookhaven at the burns range. I think that would be about 2.5 hours from Starkville right off I-55. If your interested I will let you know when they have the first one and you can come shoot it with me, and I will supply the rifle.
I can give you a little tutorial on pulling targets and scoring about 10 minutes before the match and you will be ready to go.
