I just ordered 50 pieces for my 300wsm. Anyone experience this brass first handed? I only loaded win brass so far, so how does it compare? quality? capacity? uniformity?

Norma brass is very good quality. It will have smaller flash holes than most other brass except Lapua. It is relatively uniformly smaller.
The primer pockets will be pretty good and not need much uniforming.
Unless you just want to fool with it then leave the primer pockets and flash hole alone. You probably won't improve it.
Apparently, the alloy composition is slightly different than others and it is softer.
I do not know anything about the volume of Norma vs Winchester.

I have used Norma, Rem and Win brass in my 300WSM. The Norma is by far the best of the three. Win brass is just about done after 3 loadings(split necks). Annealing may push it to 5 , but I don't trust it. My 300WSM Norma brass gets annealed after every 3 firings and it lasts a long time. I have one set that has been fired and loaded 9 times and it still looks good. No split necks and no problems at the web. It may cost more than Win brass, but it lasts at least three times as long.

Norma is all I load for .308 now.
It's as good a Lapua, but as for capacities, I haven't measured them but I highly recommend Norma Brass.

I use it in my .257AI and I have some in 222. No complaints yet.

The Norma 300 WSM brass is excellent.
I am having a special 300 WSM built to shoot the 125grn BT at 4000fps. The only way this type of performance can be achieved, with the 300 WSM, is the Action must be either a Nesika or Bat, the barrel has to be a 1-15 twist and 30" in length, and last but not least you have to use Norma 300 WSM Brass. It is extreamly strong and of excellent quality.
Norma 300 WSM;
1. Will handle higher pressures and allow for more velocity
2. Allow for more firings per case
3. Is much more uniformed
4. Will give you better groups
You will see a big difference with Norma Brass. It's more expensive, but well worth it.

Kraky, yes it's possible, please look at Richard's Custom Rifles web site and look at the 300 "Varminter". All who have had one built are reporting excellent acuracy and velocities over 4000fps. The rifle shots super flat out to 1000 yards.
However, like I said, you must use a Nesika or BAT action, Bartlien 30", 1-15 twist barrel, 300 WSM Norma Match .337 Tightneck chamber, and Norma 300 WSM Brass to handle the pressures. The powder that is being used is V-N550. A factory 300 WSM rifle will never be able to obtain this type of performance, even with reloads.
This rifle is a custom build with parts used specifically designed to obtain this type of performance. There is also another article on 6mmBR.com called "Franklin's 4000 FPS .30-Cal Is A Hit With Hunters" Please, read this article and look at his web site. It will inform you on how it is possible.
I have talked to 13 varmint hunters who have had a 300 Varminter built by Richard Franklin. They have all told me the 300 Varminter is an awesome performing set up if you like to use the lighter poly tipped bullets. The same individuals have all reported velocities from 4000fps to 4065fps with the 125grn BT and 4100 fps to 4150 fps with the 110grn V-Max. They have reported the 125grn BT is performing excellent out to 1000 yards. They have all said the accuracy and performance is awesome. They are also reporting excellent barrel life.
I like the Red Mist factor when I shoot varmints, so this rifle is perfect for my needs and area I shoot in. It might not be the perfect rifle for others, but it is for me. Anyhow, please look at the sight I mentioned and read the article in 6mmBR.com. I think you will be a believer once you see how the rifle is built.
As soon as I receive my 300 Varminter, I will post picks and inform everyone on it's perfromance. I should be receiving the rifle in March or the beginning of April. I should have a report by late April or early May.

For some reason, this bullet, cartridge and barrel twist combination along with the V-N550 powder is performing very well. It does tremendous damage to varmints.
There is video of the 300 Varminter at work and it's awesome to see what the 125grn BT does to a 15 pound groudhog. One of the guys a spoke with, who owns a 300 Varminter, said he took this rifle Pdoggin last year and it was flipping the Pdogs up at 700 yards. He said it is very fun to shoot and perfect for varminting out to 800 yards.

the topic seems to be about the 300 varminter so i'll ask a question about it here. if 110-125 bullets are being used, why not a slower twist? a 150 will stabilize with a 15. an 18 twist might be more in line with these bullets especially at the speeds they are being driven. berger recommends a 19 for their 110 and 125 bullets. did anyone ever try a slower twist with this setup? i realize more RPM's can aid in the "mist factor" but an 18 would be a little easier on jackets and just maybe more accurate.
