TRG 42 , Blaser tactical , or custom

I have quick questions that probably doesn't have a quick answer. I want a 338 lupua and can't decide if I should just buy it in a SAKO Trg42, Blaser Tactical or have one custom made.
I really want to have a great shooting gun that groups and can hold a constant low MOA. I've been looking into the Blaser tactical really hard but there is a few week delivery time. But then again there is one for the TRG and if I have a custom one made I could probably have it built in a Edge or something like that, but there again still waiting a few weeks or more.
Is there any one out there that has the Blaser tactical or TRG and how do you like them?

The only problem with getting something custom like the edge for me is I would have to buy another action and stock and all trigger and so on. I can get either of the TRG or Blaser for around 3500 or a little less How much would a custom rifle built with all that I would need cost?
Because I just couldn't part with any of the shooters that I have already just for another caliber. I'm happy with the 7mm STW I have but just want to get something bigger that I can shoot at least 250 grian bullet or more.
I like the more of the tactical style rifles for some reason I guess being ex military I just can't help it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I went through such questions recently and opted for the custom edge route because I had a cast iron guarantee for accuracy. If it wouldn't shoot, it didn't leave the shop until it did. With the custom, I got the knowhow of an expert who gave me all (ALL) of the reloading info and ballistics I needed. No load workup required. A guarantee to group 3 rounds inside a 1 " box at 300 yards is peace of mind for me.

As it turned out the gun ended up being everything promised and more.

I have never done much serious long range work, and don't consider myself any better shot than the next guy. But when I shot the rifle at the first 800 yard target, and hit it dead centre perfect, I knew I had made the right choice.

I love the blaser and TRG, and looked seriously at both. I dont believe they offer such accuracy promises though unless I can be corrected ? I'm also fairly sure you will still have change in your pocket with the edge over the other 2 ? Maybe bang an NXS on top just for fun ?

Any of them will kick *** for sure !

I just bought a McMillan tactical 338 lapua. It is fantastic! Shoots .5 inch groups with 300gr. Black hills and .3-.4 with the 250gr. You might give them a look. Not a long wait either, took a little over a month to get it from them.

I went the custom route with my 338 LM. I wanted mine built around the Surgeon XL action. PAI is building mine and I should have it this spring.

Topped off with a Nightforce NXS 5.5x22x56.
I use 225g SST.Lapua Brass and 101g of ADI powder @ 3000fps and have taken Himalayan bull Tahr out too 1,695Metres.Witnessed by 4 hunters.
The Sako TRG looked a little bit plain (seeing as I was spending so much money)Go the Blasers !!!

NXS and reticles

Guys I really appreciate all the feedback. I'm still torn because I can't seem to find the Blaser tactical in stock any where to put my hands on it.

could you take some pictures of your set up and post them for me. Maybe some close ups as well. Because for the life of me I've felt and held some really nice Balsers before but never the tactical. The only picture that I've ever seen is on there webpage and it doesn't show any close ups.

Finally to my next question I have two NXS 5.5x22x56 with the NP-2DD reticles in them and they are great for being simply to see and use. But what I was wondering is what reticle does every one else use and how do they like them. With the 338 LM I'm planning on shooting long range!
Will another reticle be helpful?
Please post thoughts and experiences with the different reticles.
