citgo changing name

It's quite apparent to me that we (web surfers) have failed to get the Citgo message out. There are 4 gas stations within a few blocks of my home and the Citgo station is always busy doing repairs and fill-ups. I'm shocked that they can even stay in business but it appears that people (Americans) just don't know that one of America's greatest enemies owns Citgo.

chavez is changing the name to petro express because of the loss of sales due to americans boycotting the chavez owned company. just a heads up

The boycott is worrrking and depriving the Venezualan dictator profits. I LIKE it.

On the other hand I buy a lot of Sinclair gas, it's all domestic and domestically owned. The extra .15 a gal to an AMERICAN company makes me :) since I am depriving the Islamofascists of their excess profits.

Total BS!

CITGO is NOT changing it's name to Petro Express.

CITGO is NOT owned by Chavez.

etc, etc, etc.......

FACT is, CITGO does not own a single service station in the US.....when you see the CITGO sign out front, it means that it is a "branded" station......in other words, the owner of the station has a contract with CITGO to supply the gasoline.....

FACT, CITGO, just like all oil companies, buys it's crude from more than one source....not just Venezuela.

FACT, CITGO employes around 5000 hard working americans. (No, I'm not one of them)

FACT......Citgo recently pulled out of a few markets, not because of any boycott, but because it was a move to increase profits and cut expenses!

Here's another clue for you.......buying gasoline from a company because you think it's either gives or withholds profit from certain companies or countries is silly......if you knew anything about how the oil business works, you would know that oil companies buy crude from many different sources and oil companies "exchange" products in different markets......so, the gasoline you buy at your local Texaco, Phillips 66, BP or CITGO station may be refined from Venezuelan, Nigerian, middle eastern or domestic crude in a Shell, Sunoco, Conoco refinery and there is no way you could know it's origin! Do you really think each oil company supplies it's own refined gasoline to every station that wears it's sign??? It doesn't work that way!

By the way.....if you actually could boycott Venezuelan oil and ban it from the US, PDVSA (CITGO parent company) could easily sell it's crude to China or India or somewhere else on the world market.....think about what would happen if you cut the US crude supply by 10%.......how does $5-$6/gallon sound???

Please don't pass along false rumors.......it's not that difficult to check them out BEFORE you pass them along!

OK, who can I hate now!

On the matter of Americans or most consumers for that matter, doing smart things, it just don't happen!

About 20 years ago it was very expensive to fly on transatlantic flights. Along comes Freddy Laker and sells seats, no frills, dirt cheap. I can't remember, but it was something like $200.00
His business took off, and all the other airlines drop their prices too. Did the consumer realise that this new guy brought the price down and use him instead of the airlines that were $crewing them??
NO, they flocked back to the big carriers and Sky Train went bankrupt...
After he went broke the other airlines jacked the prices back up, and the consumer got what he deserved!

edge.

Feel free to hate Chavez......he is a scumbag of the lowest order!!

I hear you about the price matching stuff.......why buy from the "price matchers".....spend your money with the first guy with the low price!!

Citicorp Refuses to Process Firearms Transactions

Apparently, after 28 January, Citigroup will not process gun orders. Ref. the artical above for details. I just called up my Citibank credit card and they read a scripted response that danced around this but finally confirmed it to be true.

So I plan on hating them if you would like to join me. :(

Here is their 24 hr toll free number 888-766-2484 if you want to hear it first hand.
