4.5-30x?!?! If this is true, and they have that much adjustment, these may become the new long range scope! I have not heard of an Elite 6500 though.

All I can say is, Its about time. I thought these companies would never figure out how to build a real long range scope. I have read that Sightron is making a real cool sounding long range scope, too. Tell Santa to Wait — New Scopes from Sightron « AccurateShooter.com Bulletin An 8-32x56 mm with 70 minutes of Elevation, Hey this is exciting stuff man.

I suppose they will sell well as will the Leuy VX-IIIs but not to be mean, I think these are in the "settlefur" category.

I have 3 Bushnell 4200s, and they're fine for my varmint and rough hunting rifles, but for the special rifle Kirby is building for me it's got to be at least a NXS...can't really go for a S&B Police Marksman II ($2500-$3000), or a Hensoldt (hard to get and very expensive)...but definely a NXS...just have to cut back on the golf and skeet, and save a few more bucks.

"Settlefur"...I really don't know what they will be like. If the glass is any kind of step up from the 4200's, they have repeatable target turrets, and the claimed 80-100moa of adjustments then I don't see there being any kind of settling. Sounds like a good long range HUNTING scope, all for under 1K. But then again, some people think that anything short of a $2,000 + S&B is settling.

Your right it wasn't a nice thing to say, kinda snobby. Not everybody has money to throw at an NXS. Its a less expensive option for us blue collar guys.
I am excited that there will be new long range scopes available for more shooters at a more reasonable price. Hopefully they will track well, have clear optics.

There's conflicting reports as to how much travel they have. The most recent specs are showing 60 inches of travel at 100 yards for the 2.5-16's and 38 inches of travel on the 4.5-30. This is more reasonable for a 6.5x erector scope in a 30mm tube as opposed to the initial release of 80-100 moa of travel.
FOV on the 2.5-16's is 6.6' - 41.0' at 100 yards.
FOV on the 4.5-30 is 3.4' - 21.6 ' at 100 yards.

I was talking to the owner of one of our local shops to day and he heard @ some show or something that the 6500 glass was going to be made in the same Japanese factory that makes the nightforce glass..
Hopefully it will be as good or better than nightforce's stuff...

I have posted elsewhere my disappointment of the new 6500 T with the external turrets. Last weekend I got 45 MOA total range. 20 MOA base printed 11 inches high at 100 yards with the elevation bottomed out.
It will make a great varmint scope but don't expect come ups to 1000 yards.

Hi, have you spoken to bushnell about it? It may be a fault.
I have the standard 2.5x16x42 and on standard bases I have 43 moa of elevation from zero and close to the same winding below zero. The clicks work out to be 3.57 per moa though but I dont mind that .It seems a little odd that the T version would have less elevatioin than the standard models.
