It appears that 100V is a fair amount faster than H-4350, and the loading data that Hodgdon lists on their website uses ~50,000Kpsia as a "starting load", and ~62Kpsia as a"max".

But with other powders, they use ~44Kpsia for starting loads, and ~50Kpsia for max... so it's hard to compare this powder (and IMR-4007-SSC) to current powders, because there is a shift to use ~62,000-ish Kpsia as a new max load standard, cuz the factories are now loading the heavier cartridges hotter that 5 or 10 years ago.

I don't see what you are saying. Most of the Hodgdon data for H4350 has the pressure listed in CUP whereas for Hybrid 100v it is listed in PSI. If you convert the CUP figures to a near approximate PSI figure you will find that they are very close in there pressures. It also appears to me that 100v is generally slightly slower than H 4350.

You are right - I didn't compare weights/velocity.

I have the full set of SAAMI engineering books, and they say there is no direct conversion from CUP to Strain, so the pressure thing is still shaky in my opinion.

James, Cat, does this powder look like it might be a good powder for a .280 Rem with 160 accubonds? I'm guessing it's one of the Hodgdons temp stabilized powders? I'm still using RL 22, but looking for something with a better cold weather reputation.

I am going to go way out on a limb and say that it would be worth trying.:D
Looking through Hodgdon's data it looks like it pretty much kicks but on everything they list loads for the 100v. Until I try it though I will remain cautiously optomistic, all one can do is try it and see how well it shoots. You posted that you use RE 22. I have never been able to get any Alliant powder to shoot well in any of my guns and many others have great luck with it, which is why I say you just need to try it to know how it will perform.
I did notice when looking up load data for the 280 that all load pressures, including Hybrid 100v and Supreme 780 are in CUP for that ctg.
I am sure that Hodgdon will list it as an extreme powder, it will be interesting to see if it is as temp. stable as H4350 'tho I doubt it will be.

Also on the near horizon is RL-17. Strange tho it may seem, it will have a burn rate between RL-15 and RL-19. Other characteristics yet to be determined.
