Nothin fancy , but it's a start. Basic stock Weatherby SS Vanguard rechambered to .25-300 Weatherby Magnum. Custom brake installed.
Being it's a Vanguard , it's only a 24" Tube ( 26" W/ brake). I'm sure velocity will not be up to max with the proper barrel length , but it should still smoke some 100 gr TSX's down the range:cool:
The rifle is topped with a Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14 x 50 snuggled into Talley one piece aluminum bases.
I will eventually get a better stock on her, but first some load work out back. Basically I'll take 300 Wby cases through a 270 Wby die then run those through a 257 Wby die and viola, .25-300 Wby. We are looking for 4000 fps with 100 gr TSX's.

did the target knobs come with your scope or did you get them aftermarket? I'm lookin' for some for a 4.5-14 conquest.

Please post some velocities when you get some data. I have two 257-8mm rem mags and they will not get the 4000 fps with a little more case capacity than yours. However my 7mm-300 wby will shoot faster than any of my five 7mm-8mm rem mags even though it has slightly less powder capacity. Be interested in hearing what you come up with.

Sounds Like An Awesome Goat/deer Round, Will Be Very Interested In The Velocity You Achieve, Had This Idea For A T/c Encore In .25/06 With The 28" Barrel, And Blowing It Out To .25/300, Was Thinking Of 115gn Loads At 3800 Or Thereabouts, Anyone Out There Played With An Encore In This Way?
