Who chambers the 7mm STW & RUM other than Remy??? No, offense but a couple Remys have left a bad taste in my mouth... Love these rounds but cannot find the gun to match it!

Thanks for your time - Rod

Right now I don't think anyone chambers new rifles for the 7 STW. For the RUM, I believe it's Remington or a custom rifle. IMHO the custom rifle is the way to go for either one; a long range rifle should be the best (most accurate) you can afford.

If you can get a Rem. Mag receiver from a used gun, and a proper stock (not the synthetic stocks on current Remingtons) to send to the custom maker, you can get close to 1200-1500 (total)...probably. Check around.

But, do Savages come in the aformentioned calibers?

Not directly, but you can basically change barrels in your basement to about any caliber you might want; all you need is a barrel nut wrench and a go-gauge for the barrel you are installing. See barrels at Custom rifle barrels for varmint hunters to serious benchrest shooters. PAC-NOR Barreling, Inc. - Precision Rifle Barrels - Pac-Nor.com or Welcome to Shilen Rifles, Inc.

For the STW, you could just buy the cheapest savage in 7mm Rem mag you could find, then put a good stock and good 7mmSTW barrel on it and you'd be golden. For the RUM, I'd check with Fred at Sharp Shooter Supply - The Savage Specialists to see exactly what you'd need.
