I had a chance to do some hunting this weekend with a buddy who still had a bear tag. We spent a lot of time glassing clear cuts, calling, and walking some overgrown roads with lots of feed when we came upon this guy. He was digging around an old dead log on a creek bank looking for grubs. The shot was only about 65yds and for my buddy who also shoots a 300wsm it was an easy task. The bear weighed about 175lbs and I aged him to be about 3-4yrs old, not bad for a first bear ;) ...
