The Western WA Modern Firearm 3 pt. minimum elk season for Winston 520 GMU also runs November 5-15, which means that with her "antlerless permit" she can shoot either an "antlerless" OR "3 pt. or better" elk with the same tag as outlined in Washington's 2011 Big Game Hunting Seasons & Regulations as well as wdfw.wa.gov. There are some idiots out there, but very, very few on this site. Thanks.

PS - She has submitted her harvest report to the state and the transport tag is in the freezer with the meat and will remain there until it is consumed as required by law.
That is interesting! I don't know anything about Washington game laws. Here in Ohio, they sell "anterless" tags. A legal buck (which you can only take one per year), has 3" of antler on at least ONE side or more. So many hunters refer to the antlerless tags as "doe tags." But this is not so. You can fill every single tag you buy in Ohio with a deer that has a pecker-n-nuts. Just better make sure they are all buttons or satisfy the "anterless" description.

I think Kentucky is worded very similarly.

LOL!! I've killed the majority of my elk with a 130 grain bullet out of a 270. I always laugh when my choice of bullet weight becomes a topic of ribbing. I'm sure you're right; that elk would have just chuckled and kept moving if it had any idea someone had the gall to use a 130 grain in the 270

Yep, there's only a handful of hunts across the state where the special draw hunt corresponds with the general season hunt. My antlerless muzzleloader permit was a permit only season in that GMU, but had I not taken a cow during that permit season, I would have been able to hunt any other open unit during the Western WA General Muzzleloader season. The tag is good for the general elk season and the permit allows you to hunt the special season you drew for.
